After Dad left, Cai Wei was sleepless, she sat alone hugging her knees, deep in thought inside the tent, considering how to deal with Empress and Saknu.
Not until the sound of Brother Ying’s cry echoed in her ears, did she suddenly realize that it was already the third watch of the night.
"Master, why don’t you come over, we have been waiting for you for a long time!"
"Alright, I’m coming!"
Cai Wei got up, changed into a simple outfit, left the room and hurried towards the hunting ground.
She must find a way to regenerate her Space rapidly. To cope with powerful enemies, she must first become strong herself to have a chance to compete. If she could surpass the Empress and Saknu, on what authority would they control her life?
Running outside the Manor, the White Tiger and The Great Immortal Turtle were already waiting there.
"Master, hurry up and get on, I’ll carry you."
Cai Wei made a leap onto the back of the White Tiger. In the moonlight, they headed deep into the hunting ground. Brother Ying was circling overhead, while Chang Mei jumped on the branches along the side of the road. A group consisting of one human and four beasts swiftly reached deep into the wilderness.
Everything was different in places nourished by spiritual energy. As soon as Cai Wei entered the mountain col as the Old Turtle had described, Cai Wei immediately smelled a fresh scent like ambrosia, similar to the aroma of Space before.
"Indeed, it is the spiritual energy, although not as mellow as the original spirit of the Space, it is already very rare.
Master, don’t open the Space, use your will to collect it!"
The Old Turtle suggested, "The spiritual energy in the Space is thin, weaker than that in the mountains. If it backfires, it would be disastrous."
Cai Wei followed the Old Turtle’s advice, sat down cross-legged, and focused. With a low shout, she commanded: "Collect!"
Immediately, a large amount of spiritual energy gathered and in a blink was absorbed into the Space.
"Collect, collect, collect!"
Cai Wei kept shouting, watching the continuous influx of spiritual energy into the Space. She was so delighted that she felt like bursting into song and dance.
The Space, nourished by the spiritual energy, was immediately transformed. The once colorless small bamboo house was now rejuvenated with vibrant green. The strange flowers and weeds in the courtyard sprouted and grew vigorously. The black land was turning green at a visible speed. The vanished plants were slowly regrowing with the influx of spiritual energy. Soon, the Space was once again lush and green!
The turbid stream became clear again, the rushing water flowing cheerfully, even the hot spring in the bamboo house became crystal clear and steaming...
Cai Wei sat there cross-legged, tirelessly collecting from the third watch of the night to the brink of dawn, exhausting almost all the spiritual energy in the mountain, before standing up and heading home satisfied.
Her Space was flourishing once again, the crops inside had started to grow again. Although the spiritual energy in the Space was not as rich as before, given enough time, it would certainly become as nourishing as before. The Divine Beasts would no longer feel oppressed and stifled living inside, and she could once again take baths, sleep, and cultivate her martial arts skills in there; everything seemed to be returning back to normal!
By the time she got back to the Manor, it was already the fifth watch of the night, and Zhang Biaotou’s wife, Lady Yu, had already gotten up. She was in the kitchen preparing food with her sisters-in-law, and they were all surprised seeing Cai Wei returning from outside.
Cai Wei with a poker face said: "I have a habit of working out early in the morning, went out for exercise."
Even though Lady Yu and the sisters-in-law did not understand what ’morning workout’ meant, they had absolute faith in their Miss, so no one doubted anything and continued cooking.
