"Hey, I just knew you’d come back," Qin Zhen stretched out to touch Qin Yu’s head but was swiftly dodged.
Qin Yu really detested his cousin touching his head.
He didn’t understand his cousin’s weird habit of always trying to touch his head.
He told him off every time... yet he never changed. It was infuriating.
He ignored Qin Zhen and turned around to head back into the yard.
Qin Zhen, looking at the younger man’s retreating figure, raised his eyebrows but wasn’t angered by his attitude, and walked into the yard.
Upon seeing Madam Rong, he called out, "Auntie."
Madam Rong replied immediately, "You’ve come at the right time. Stay for dinner."
Hearing about dinner, Qin Zhen shook his head to decline.
"No need. I’ll be heading back soon. My wife is waiting for me to have dinner at home!"
Upon hearing that it was his wife who asked him to come back for dinner, Madam Rong didn’t press further.
She simply went to the kitchen...
Qin Ye looked at Qin Zhen with a bit of disdain, obviously not very fond of him.
Over the years, Qin Zhen never missed a chance to boast about his son in front of him.
Hah, even when he had a daughter in the future, he wouldn’t be as childish as Qin Zhen.
Seeing his cold demeanor, Qin Zhen said, "Don’t worry. I’m not here to see you. I’m here to see my sister-in-law."

At least he didn’t have to worry about how to explain things to his wife when he got back.
"The patient is at the Second Hospital. If you’re going to visit, we can head there now."
Before Rong Yan replied, Qin Ye interjected quicker, "If the patient is stable enough to be at the Second Hospital, then the doctors there should be handling it. It won’t make much difference if we wait a little while, right? If we are really going, it’s better to eat dinner first before leaving."
Qin Ye suggested this because Qin Zhen’s tone didn’t imply an emergency.
His wife mattered more.
Qin Zhen, hearing Qin Ye’s words, just remembered that his sister-in-law was pregnant and couldn’t skip meals.
So he hurriedly said, "A little delay won’t hurt. Let’s have dinner and then head out...," he glanced at his watch.
"I’ll come pick you up in an hour."
