Qin Ye was very pleased after knowing her plans.
They had bought a house here, and she had found a job.
So, they could really start their life anew here... and it would only get better.
The two watched TV for a while, and at nine o’clock, Rong Yan stood up, "It’s getting late, I’m going to sleep."
"...Okay!" Qin Ye looked at her, "Then you go to sleep first."
He needed to clean the apartment tonight.
Anyway, he couldn’t share a room with her.
Going upstairs and returning to his room, he couldn’t sleep anyway.
Rong Yan didn’t think much and went straight upstairs.
However, when she reached the second-floor staircase and turned her head, she saw Qin Ye mopping the floor.
She raised an eyebrow... he was quite diligent!
Without saying much, she went straight back to her room.
The room wasn’t very hot.
There was a fan blowing.
Rong Yan took another shower... her favorite part of this villa was that the room had a bathroom.
After the shower, she lay on the bed reading... about an hour passed when she heard some noise from next door...
The next day, Rong Yan opened her eyes to the sound of knocking outside.
She got up and went to the door.
"Dear, I have to go out for a bit soon, breakfast is in the kitchen, you can eat whenever you feel like it. Oh, and I may need to go back to town this afternoon, I might not return tonight, you’ll be okay staying alone, right?"
He had planned to say this last night but forgot.
"You’re going back to town this afternoon? Well, I’ll go with you, I need to pick up a few things as well."
She wanted to sort out the original owner’s belongings.
That way, she wouldn’t have to go back again.
There was nothing left for her in that place, especially since she had severed ties with the original owner’s mother.
Qin Ye’s face visibly brightened when he heard she would join him.
"Alright, then let’s go together, we can stay there for the night and come back tomorrow morning." There’s no need to move anything from that home here anymore.
There wasn’t much to move; they could buy everything new here.
Rong Yan nodded, "Then you go ahead with your work! I’ll go out for a bit this morning and wait for you at home at noon."
"Alright." Knowing she hadn’t washed up yet, Qin Ye didn’t linger and turned to leave.
When Rong Yan had washed, dressed, and come downstairs, Qin Ye was already gone.
The large Western-style house was empty except for her.
It was quite spacious and quiet.
But, she quite enjoyed this peace.
Breakfast was in the kitchen; Rong Yan walked over and found nicely served red bean porridge and steamed buns in a pot.
One was lukewarm, the other hot—very considerate.
Their time together was short, but she noticed everything he did.
After breakfast, she didn’t go anywhere else but stayed at home.
She had wanted to clean, but the floor was so clean; it seemed Qin Ye had not only cleaned last night but also this morning.
At nine o’clock, she went outside to make a phone call to Director Xu’s office.
The call was picked up quickly.
"Director Xu, this is Rong Yan..."
As soon as she introduced herself, Director Xu was delighted, "Comrade Rong Yan, I’ve been waiting for your call! Have you decided?"
"Yes, I’ve decided. I accept the job, but I’ll find a school on my own, and... I need to report to work three days later."
"Three days is fine, come directly and mention Old Xu’s name, I’ll notify the gatekeeper as well."
