Jeng Ruyue herself, however, was slightly smiling, comforting her Husband.
"How is it?" asked Lin Yuan as she quietly walked over to Xia Zheng’s side, noticing Lao Fan with his eyes closed, unsure whether he was taking the pulse or sleeping.
Xia Zheng shrugged, "He’s been asleep for a while now."
Xiao Linshuang, who was busy stuffing Osmanthus Cake into her mouth, pinched his arm hard, causing Xia Zheng almost to jump out of his chair in pain: "My master wasn’t sleeping, he was taking the pulse!"
"You little brat, daring to treat your brother-in-law , watch me..."
Before Xia Zheng could finish, Lin Yuan pinched his arm again, "Don’t talk, Lao Fan has finished."
No sooner had she spoken than everyone’s gaze swiftly turned to Lao Fan. They saw him first gather his hands from Jeng Ruyue’s wrist, flexed them a bit, and then, without a word, he tried to pick up the teapot to pour himself some water.
Liu Siqi, with sharp eyes, hastily stepped forward to pour the tea for him, presenting it with both hands: "Divine Doctor, please have some tea."
Lao Fan nodded slightly, took the teacup, sipped lightly, and then pretended to place it on the table. Liu Siqi quickly caught it with both hands and placed it down himself.
Lin Yuan and Xia Zheng exchanged glances, both seeing a hint of amusement in each other’s eyes.
Even Xiao Linshuang couldn’t stand it anymore, muttering under her breath, "Master is really putting on an act again, sigh, hasn’t he heard what big sister says? Pretending will get you beaten!"
"Divine Doctor, my, my wife, how is she? Can she be cured?" Liu Siqi was so anxious, he almost grabbed Lao Fan’s arm to inquire.
Jeng Ruyue, feeling pained seeing her husband , gently held his hand, her graceful and gentle smile only making her more endearing.
Lao Fan, still with his eyes closed, shook his head and waffled, saying three words: "Difficult, so difficult!"
Lin Yuan, Xiao Linshuang, and even Xia Zheng very synchronously imitated Lao Fan’s head shaking and waffling, murmuring the same three words: "Difficult, so difficult!"
Lao Fan suddenly opened his eyes, only to see the three of them imitating him, and getting so angry that his earlier pretense dissipated as he bellowed, with his whiskers blowing and slamming the table: "You rascals, you scoundrels! Don’t copy me!"
The trio, Lin Yuan and the others, chuckled, still shaking their heads and repeating, "Difficult, so difficult!"
Lao Fan was speechless, turning green with frustration.
Liu Siqi and Jeng Ruyue looked on bewildered at their antics, not understanding what this ’difficult’ really meant.
Lin Yuan looked at Liu Siqi and his wife with a beaming smile, saying cheerfully, "Second uncle, second aunt, don’t worry, as long as the Divine Doctor has seen it, there’s no illness he can’t cure."
"But, didn’t he just say it was very difficult to cure?" Although Liu Siqi very much hoped for Jeng Ruyue’s illness to be cured, reason told him not to act impulsively, as the Divine Doctor had clearly said it was difficult.
"Come on, master, stop beating around the bush, just tell us. My second uncle is about to cry out of anxiety," Xiao Linshuang pouted, looking very dissatisfied. No wonder big sister always said she was becoming more and more annoying and pretentious, it was all from learning from the master; indeed, it was very annoying.
Lao Fan’s usual tricks were no longer effective in front of Lin Yuan and the others, deflating like a punctured ball, he pouted his lips: "Fine, there’s no major illness, give me a month, and I guarantee she’ll be hopping around lively."
