Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer Chapter 145

Unexpectedly, they had ended up rescuing an extraordinary being.

"Six... Six Spirals?" Chadite’s voice was filled with disbelief.

The most she knew was that the Archbishop of the Holy Mother Church had reportedly reached the Four Spirals level.

Now, before her stood a Mermaid with the power of Six Spirals, yet displaying such vulnerability.

This inevitably reminded them of their earlier situation in the cave and the scene they had witnessed.

Alka furrowed his brows even more.

He still remembered the information about the Treasure. Because he had sensed the environment was safe, he had awakened the sealed Mermaid.

This is a problem. Her power has reached Six Spirals, which should have meant the environment was safe for her long ago. It wasn’t that I look down on the Governor from 400 years ago, but judging by the Evil Spirit, there were at most two Two Spiral experts. How could this environment make someone with Six Spirals instinctively believe it’s dangerous outside? What environment here *wouldn’t* be safe for her? I don’t know what the power of Six Spirals truly entails, but it’s surely beyond anything we can currently imagine.

While Chadite and Pororo were still shocked by the Six Spirals power, Alka was already thinking and asked, "Could there be a problem with her power?"

He asked because the state this Mermaid displayed compelled him to think so. It was also a fairly reasonable guess.

"How do you know?" Lucilia asked in surprise, then quickly continued, "She said there’s something wrong with this place; something is constantly suppressing her. She’s felt it ever since she woke up, that her power is confined."

"Essentially, her power has been suppressed to Two Spirals, but with her experience and knowledge, she can exert the power of Three Spirals."

Hearing this, Alka immediately pressed, "Confined? Why? Is it because of the Realm of Pitch Darkness?"

I have to know if it’s because of the Realm of Pitch Darkness. If that’s the reason, I’ll have to change my strategy. This suggests the Realm of Pitch Darkness holds even deeper power. I’ll have to reconsider whether to make the source of the outbreak my target.

"Wait a moment, I’ll go ask her for more details."

Lucilia flew back over and resumed her conversation with Julia.

Alka, Chadite, and Pororo exchanged glances.

"What kind of power is Six Spirals?" Chadite couldn’t help but ask.

She now felt an urge to ask Julia for help in rescuing her father. But she had also just heard that Julia’s power had issues, limiting her to only Three Spirals. Three Spirals was equivalent to Alka’s father’s strength; without Magic Items, it offered no advantage. However, having someone with Three Spirals helping them was, nonetheless, a good thing worth being happy about. Of course, this was all premised on Lucilia’s words being true—that the Mermaid could be trusted.

After all, the three of them knew nothing about such a Race.

Just then, Lucilia drifted over. Alka noticed she looked somewhat dazed, her eyes conspicuously vacant, as if deep in thought.

"Lucilia, what’s wrong?" Alka asked with concern.

Hearing Alka’s voice, Lucilia snapped back to her senses. Seeing the concern in Alka’s and Chadite’s eyes, she composed herself and said, "It’s nothing. Julia said it wasn’t because of the Dark Element here, but due to a higher existence. The environment of the Realm of Pitch Darkness doesn’t affect her at all. And she said if there’s anything she can do to help, she’d be happy to provide assistance."

After saying this, Lucilia reverted to her somewhat dazed state and slipped back into the Magic Mirror in Alka’s arms.

"She definitely has something on her mind. You’d better ask her in detail," Pororo said from the side.

Even he could see that something was clearly wrong with Lucilia’s state; her heavy thoughts were almost written on her face.

Alka nodded and said, "Since Julia is fine, let’s head towards the target Island."

"At our current speed, the voyage will take about three days," Chadite said after looking at the map and making some calculations.

Then they each began their tasks. Alka made a slight adjustment to the sails and then leaned back against the mast, sitting down again. He gently tapped the Magic Mirror.

"What’s wrong?" Lucilia’s voice reached him as Alka closed his eyes.

"Pull me into the dream. Let’s talk."

Alka closed his eyes and soon fell into a Deep Sleep. However, it was a while before darkness enveloped him, startling him awake from the dream.

Alka opened his eyes. He was still on the Flying Swallow, but the ship was now enveloped in a pure black environment, utterly silent. Only Lucilia sat at the bow, her porcelain-like, exquisite legs dangling quietly over the side.

At this moment, Lucilia exuded an air of sorrow and fragility, a stark contrast to her previous knowledgeable, elegant, and radiant demeanor.

Alka walked over and sat down beside Lucilia.

They sat quietly for a good while before Alka finally asked, "You learned something from Julia about your family, didn’t you?"

Alka had harbored suspicions before; he had always found it difficult to believe that Lucilia was a soul lingering from the Ancient Times. An era so ancient that no records of it remained, not even of topographical changes—it seemed too exaggerated. Yet Lucilia possessed memories and remained, seemingly unaffected, within the Magic Mirror. It was as if the passage of time had no effect on the Magic Mirror or Lucilia. I find it hard to believe this is something a blue-grade Magic Item could accomplish. Moreover, it wasn’t as if I haven’t shown the Magic Mirror to others for a simple inspection before. Neither Bobby nor Gami considered the Magic Mirror to be anything more than a rather expensive and powerful Magic Item. But that was all.
