The map now featured detailed lines and outlines, with some important locations simply drawn and marked.
Next would be the finer details of elevation and coloring.
Actually, this map was already sufficient for Alka to use. As his eyes blinked, the freshly drawn map began to shimmer with points of light.
However, he knew Chadite had her own set of requirements for map drawing. If it didn’t meet her minimum standards, she wouldn’t acknowledge it and would only feel uncomfortable.
So Alka didn’t stop her.
Instead, he secretly observed the glowing dots on the map.
The first thing that caught his eye was an extremely conspicuous golden dot of light. Compared to the white and blue ones, these golden indicators on the map appeared more like pillars of light.
It seemed to be a reminder for Alka: there was a major treasure here, not to be missed.
And the location of such pillar-like golden dots, just as he had expected, was right within the Imperial Palace they had previously circled on the outskirts.
However, looking at the distribution of these light pillars, Alka couldn’t help but frown. It was completely different from what he had imagined.
There were still white dots densely distributed in these areas, numbering at least in the hundreds.
This was understandable to Alka. What he couldn’t comprehend, however, was that this map only showed white and golden dots.
The blue dots that should have been there were missing.
The lack of blue Magic Treasures in such a place was completely incomprehensible to Alka.
This was the capital of a nation! How could there be no blue Magic Treasures left behind by previous explorers?
Even in this Imperial Palace, there should at least be Magic Items.
This was too strange.
Thinking carefully, he realized there could only be two possibilities for this situation.
The first possibility was that the earliest batch of Church Staff to conduct a rough exploration had collected everything with a magical reaction.
But this seemed unlikely. Many Magic Items have minimal Magic Power reactions because they were intended for ordinary people.
Even if you held one in your hand, you might not know it was a Magic Item without injecting Magic Power into it.
Besides, how could all the Magic Items on such a large island—the capital of an Empire—be collected within a week?
Even Alka, with his Treasure Hunting System, couldn’t guarantee he could accomplish such a feat.
Moreover, they had circled the Imperial Palace and confirmed no one had gone inside.
So there couldn’t possibly be only a single golden dot inside.
The other possibility was that this place was the source of the outbreak of darkness.
The Dark Element, having enveloped two countries and their surrounding seas, erupting from such a place would cause an unimaginable Magic Power shock.
It was highly probable that this shock had directly obliterated all Magic Items.
Alternatively, the concentrated Dark Energy that followed might have eroded these Magic Items. That was also possible.
As Alka was contemplating this, Pororo walked in. Alka turned and, seeing Pororo’s empty hands, knew there was apparently nothing edible to be found in this place.
Not only that, but there was also a large bite mark on Pororo’s shoulder. Although the skin wasn’t broken, the red teeth imprints were still very conspicuous.
"You were attacked?" Alka asked.
Hearing Alka’s question, Pororo nodded. With a somewhat disgusted expression, he said, "The waters around this damned place are truly repulsive. None of the creatures in the sea are normal; they’ve all gone mad, constantly fighting each other. They’re extremely aggressive."
Well, this is the source, after all, so such a situation is understandable,
Before long, Julia and the others also returned. The doll, Lucilia, hopped a few times and landed on Alka’s shoulder.
Alka lifted Lucilia from his shoulder, examined her for a moment, and then patted the dust off.
"I’ve had an idea recently," Alka said. "If I have time, I’ll try to modify you. It should allow you to speak even in your doll form."
Hearing this, the doll Lucilia nodded, then suddenly reverted to her original, inanimate form, collapsing into Alka’s hand.
Lucilia’s soul, looking exhausted, immediately dove into his Magic Mirror.
Alka immediately began inspecting the doll, simultaneously sketching out modification plans in his mind.
Not long after, while Alka was in the middle of modifying the doll and adding Runes, Chadite handed him the map she had finished drawing.
"The map of the island we’re on is complete," Chadite said. "Do you want to restore that fragmented map as well?"
Alka nodded. "That’s fine. Just restore the parts of that map that are visible."
The main reason was that Alka had seen that particular map could display dots of light. However, the locations of those dots were too blurry, and he couldn’t click on them for details.
Apparently, a usable but incomplete island map wouldn’t allow him to click on the dots of light to get specific information.
So, he’d discovered another one of its rules.
Putting away the doll, Alka shifted his attention back to the newly drawn map.
The ink and some of the pigments on it hadn’t completely dried, but this didn’t affect its usability.
The dots of light once again appeared on it.
He gently touched one of the golden pillars of light.
