Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer Chapter 318

Pororo, beside him, was the first to speak. "Then why don’t you try taking a few cannonballs head-on?" Nᴇw novel chapters are publɪshed on 𝓷𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓵·𝓯𝓲𝓻𝓮·𝓷𝓮𝓽

Jason chuckled awkwardly. Although his strength had reached the Three Spirals level and his body was significantly tougher, claiming he could withstand several cannonballs was a joke. Even one or two would be too much for him.

However, for beings of their physique, it would be quite difficult for a cannonball to hit them. After all, a cannonball might be as large as their own heads, and its firing speed wasn’t particularly fast from their perspective.

But for the monster formed from the massive shipwreck, cannonballs posed an extreme threat. It was comparable to aiming a Vibrating Stone Gun at a Touched One at point-blank range and pulling the trigger, or even a group of people firing in unison. Even a Touched One with Three Spirals strength would struggle to evade. Once hit, they would be seriously injured.

To this giant monster, the attacks from the Sound of Dawn were similarly devastating. It could only be said that its weakness had been found and exploited.

"Cease fire," Alka ordered, and the Sound of Dawn’s cannons fell silent.

The shipwreck monster wasn’t completely destroyed; various pieces of wreckage continued to converge, repairing the gaps in its form. It appeared this monster possessed something like a core, and the wreckage clinging to it was merely an outer shell.

The others naturally noticed this too.

The group advanced toward the monster as it struggled to rise. A pink mist began to spread from Alka’s feet, creeping towards the monster. Of course, his intention wasn’t to put the monster into a Deep Sleep—though if that were feasible, it wasn’t entirely out of the question. Instead, the primary purpose of the pink mist was to detect the location of the monster’s core.

Since the monster was still repairing its body and appeared incredibly clumsy, the pink mist easily enveloped it. Soon, the monster’s movements became even more sluggish. While the mist of the Dream Realm couldn’t drag non-living materials into the dream itself, it could significantly impede their physical actions.

Alka also began to investigate in earnest.

"It feels somewhat like a spirit-type entity," Alka couldn’t help but remark after a brief probe. The pink mist now acted as an extension of his senses. Alka had fought countless spirits in the Realm of Pitch Darkness and was thus intimately familiar with their characteristics. He naturally recognized the similar traits with ease.

"Left side of its chest—the wooden panel with the window—the core is hiding there!" Alka declared, having found the weak spot through the mist.

Hearing Alka, Jason immediately raised his Vibrating Stone Gun, took quick aim, and pulled the trigger. A large amount of Magic Power had already surged into the ammunition chamber; what erupted was less a bullet and more a concentrated beam of light. It carried a potent Holy Light aura, radiating a milky-white and golden glow. Upon hearing Alka suggest it might be a spirit, Jason had already begun infusing Holy Light Energy into his ammunition chamber, as his Magic Power possessed some Holy Light attributes.

The golden beam instantly pierced the already shattered glass of the window, penetrating the monster’s entire left chest area. The beam itself was small compared to the monster’s massive form, yet it had accurately struck a vital spot.

The entire monster began to shudder. Wooden planks on its body peeled off, and chunks of wreckage tumbled down, kicking up clouds of dust and exposing the core. It was a grotesque amalgamation of various ship figureheads and skeletal skulls, all entwined with a dark green mist—a telltale sign of a spirit.

Alka hadn’t expected the inner core to look .

At this moment, the bizarre cluster had dimmed, and wisps of green smoke drifted from it.

A few more dull thuds echoed.

With the core exposed, Jason naturally pulled the trigger again, loosing several more shots. Several more beams pierced the strange construct. As the Holy Light Energy penetrated it, the entire core began to tremble. The skulls and ship figureheads, still emitting a faint green glow, started to crack and fall apart completely.

A large plume of green mist dispersed into the air; this sight indicated the monster was completely destroyed.

The entire process hadn’t been dangerous for Alka and his team; it could even be described as easy and comfortable. This was primarily because the Vibrating Stone Cannons of the Sound of Dawn had an overwhelming suppressive effect on such a monster, eliminating any need for them to engage in a direct frontal assault. They merely needed to deliver the finishing blows.

"So, what in the world was this monster?" Jason couldn’t help but remark, approaching the fallen skulls and ship figureheads. "It’s so strange; I’ve never seen anything like it."

No one could answer him.

"The Magic Power density here is very high," Julia said, having approached the area where the monster’s wreckage lay. She looked at the debris. "This place is far from the Rule, extremely desolate and ruined."

Everyone couldn’t help but turn their gaze towards her, as it was rare for Julia to show interest in explaining things.

"A high concentration of Magic Power means it’s easier for strange things to manifest in a place , especially since the surroundings... are very chaotic," Julia continued.
