Tribal Sign-In: Immortal At The Start Chapter 3

The morning golden blanketed the Dhaevrak tribe’s settlement as the sun rose above the tall, rocky mountains that flanked the tribe from all sides like a natural fortress.

The chirping of the birds reached Rion’s small ears as Lara, who wore a black fabric gown with blue, white and red floral patterns, sat on a rock with him in her arms. The cool shade of a tall tree with deep red wood and big dark green leaves covered them as she cradled him with a soft smile, tugging at her pink lips.

"When are you going to grow up?" She said while pressing him closer to herself.

A few days had already passed since Rion’s fateful reincarnation, and he could already understand a few of their words. It was especially easier with Lara because she spoke in a much clearer tone than the other tribe members.

Still, he couldn’t understand most of it. But he had learned a small trick in the past few days after seeing another child who was born a few days before him, and the trick was—

"Bwa! Bwe!" Babble randomly and make the adults believe that you can understand them.

By doing so, he was able to step out of their hut without any issue because he was an understanding child.

’Heh. How naive can they be?’ He grinned inwardly as he looked at the six green glowing arrows and one red glowing circle; they were the checkpoints that only he could see. They were also the only locations he could log in at; green arrows meant the locations he hadn’t signed in yet, while red meant the opposite, thus he couldn’t log in there anymore.

’Let’s check out what this system can do.’ He thought while staring at one of the green checkpoints, ’System.’

Just as he called out to the system in his head, a blue screen appeared before him.

————

Name: Rion Del Haden

Age: 5 days

Race: Human

Bloodline: Demigod: God of War - Unawakened, Demigod: God of Throne - Unawakened.

Skills: None

Locations signed in: 1

————

He looked at the screen with wide eyes as he stared.

"Demi what?"

But to Lara, those words were the simple babble of a newborn child.

’Holyshit! What the hell are these bloodlines? God of War? God of Throne? No wonder that father of mine looks like a Greek god... Wait! Does everyone have the blood of gods or only a select few? Hmm. I have to find more about that.’

As he finished thinking about his bloodlines, he began to think of what else he could do with the system.

’Hmm... Yes, let’s try this. Store,’ he thought, but nothing happened.

’Quests,’ nothing happened.

’Shop?’ Nothing.

’Skills,’ still nothing.

’Ugh! Inventory,’ at last, a blue holographic screen that looked like an Inventory one would see in a video game, flickered before him, and the very first block had a red book with a green tree imprinted on it. As he focused on it, a small tab appeared beside the Inventory.

Knowledge Book

Description: Knowledge of common to supreme herbs.

[Assimilate?]

[Yes / No]

————

’Oh! It’s the one I got by signing in at the doctor’s hut. Should I assimilate with it...? I remember how the pain from things like this nearly killed the main character in the shows and novels... I will assimilate with it when I need the knowledge of herbs,’ he concluded with the sacred knowledge he had gained in his past life.

’That’s it? Why is my system so... underdeveloped? It doesn’t even have quests. Tch,’ he clicked his tongue, looked away from the screen and dismissed it.

After dismissing the Inventory screen, he looked around himself. He couldn’t see much of the outside because, first, he was just an infant and second, his new mother was blocking most of his view. But, he didn’t hate it.

The motherly warmth that spread from her for him was something he had never felt before.

The vibrant wildlife that inhabited the tall, rocky mountains was something he had never seen before.

The warm sunlight that clung to his small figure was something he had never experienced before.

And the smell of fresh dew, the sweet scent of the flowers, was something he had never smelled before.

Everything was a new adventure for him; he had been denied such in his past life, after all. He enjoyed every single moment in euphoria; each second brought him a new experience, and with each event, he felt more alive.

At the moment, he was more alive than he had ever been in his past life. He took as deep a breath as he could with his tiny lungs and exhaled slowly.

Doing so made him feel more connected to the nature that he had always desired to venture into, or at least he liked to think so.

Seeing him doing that, Lara let out a chuckle and lifted him to her eye level as she spoke, "Do you like the fresh air of the mountains?"

"Bwa! Bwa!" He replied, strategically.

Hearing his blabbering, Lara shook her head as she spoke, "Why am I questioning when he can’t even understand me... is this what they call getting mad in love?"

"Nah, you were always mad," came a soft voice, followed by soft crunches as a slender yet muscular woman of around her twenties with a black ponytail and sharp brown eyes walked towards Lara with her red lips arched into a smile.

She wore a vest that clung to her well-trained figure and ample chest, and a skirt that covered her thighs, stopping right above her knees. Both were made up of animal hides, which the male warriors usually wore.

However, Lara didn’t find anything strange about her outfit and questioned with a deadpan look, "Why do you say that, Haria?"

Haria finished closing the distance between her and Lara. She leaned over to look at Rion as she replied, "Only a mad woman would fall in love with her kidnapper. Don’t you think, princess?"

Lara turned silent at her words and heaved a sigh, "Maybe."

Haria shook her head and booped Rion’s tiny nose as he stared at her with widened eyes.

’M-muscle M-mommy?!’
