Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations Chapter 623

I don’t even know how long to boil it for. Hailey Hale watched them happily tumbling in the pot, and almost burned her hand while using the spatula.

She estimated the time by herself, occasionally checking, and when she felt it was done, she used chopsticks to fish out a bowl for him.

With a damp cloth blocking the heat, she carried the bowl to the dining table, "It’s ready."

Finn Morgan looked at these bland noodles in front of him, with no aroma whatsoever. He dazedly took the chopsticks she handed over, feeling like he was serving a sentence.

"Don’t be polite, eat up. There’s more in the pot once you’re done!" She cheerfully removed her apron and brought out another bowl, then sat down across from him.

Hailey Hale looked at him, puzzled, "Why are you staring blankly? Eat up!"

Finn Morgan picked up a small portion of noodles and put them in his mouth; he tasted sweetness and a flavor of sentiment.

"Ah!" Hailey Hale spat out the noodles she’d put in her mouth, "I forgot to add salt!"

Finn Morgan couldn’t help but laugh, "Not only did you forget salt, but you also didn’t add any oil or ingredients. Couldn’t you at least fry an egg?"

"..." She was stumped by this series of questions, "I’ve never cooked noodles before."

Finn Morgan, seeing her apologetic look, spoke lightly, "No worries, I’ll go rework them." Then he carried the two bowls of plain noodles back to the kitchen.

"Hey, are you sure you can do it?" Hailey Hale got up and followed him, "You’re injured; you should rest more."

Originally, Finn Morgan wanted to say, what’s a little injury?

But when he saw the pot full of white noodles, he was completely stunned, "..." This was enough for at least six people.

"What happened?" Hailey Hale stood beside him, looking intently, and cautiously asked, "Are you feeling unwell? Do we need to go to the hospital?"

"Why did you cook so much?" He turned to look at her, "Are you a pig?"

"I’m not." She met his gaze and answered weakly, "I was worried it wouldn’t be enough. I didn’t put that much in, but as it cooked, it just seemed to multiply, like magic."

Finn Morgan was at a loss for words, and with a calm tone said, "You go out."

"Get out." He said, "The kitchen is smoky."

Hailey Hale sensed he wasn’t angry, just firm, not wanting him to repeat himself, so she quietly turned and left.

She sat down in the dining chair, a new episode of "Love in Purple Bay" had just been released, but she didn’t feel like watching it.

Thinking back to what happened at the street food earlier, she was still shaken and very concerned for Finn Morgan.

That damn fat slob! He’s asking for it!

Hailey Hale picked up her phone and dialed a number—

"Miss, what do you need?"

Hailey Hale told him, "On Crescent Street, around eight tonight, that fat Hugo Miller caused trouble, hit my friend with a beer bottle, I need you to check the surveillance for evidence and get him sent to the police station for a few days."

"Yes, Miss, I’ll report back once it’s done."

After the call ended, Hailey Hale was fuming. As the mayor’s daughter, she never abused her power. In fact, this wasn’t even abusing power; she just couldn’t stand that guy anymore.

Soon, the rich aroma of noodles filled the air and wafted into her nose.

She glanced toward the kitchen—

Finn Morgan came out with two bowls of noodles, fragrant, with a rich broth color, containing ribs and mushrooms, topped with her favorite cilantro.

And certainly with oil and salt too.

He placed a bowl in front of her and handed her a pair of chopsticks.

"Thank you." Hailey Hale felt a bit embarrassed accepting them, "Having an injured person cook for me."

"No problem." Finn Morgan replied calmly, sitting opposite her, "I brought back the shrimp, you can eat some too."

"I’m not in the mood to eat." She was thinking, if she hadn’t gone to eat shrimp, would tonight’s incident not have happened? Get full chapters from novelFɪre.net

"Are you blaming yourself?" Finn Morgan speculated.

"No, I’m not!" She didn’t want to admit it, "It’s not like I injured you, so why would I be blaming myself?"
