In the CEO’s office, Finn Morgan had just reached the doorway when he saw the woman inside.
"I’m sorry, Special Assistant Morgan, I couldn’t stop Miss Monroe," the staff member reported. "She said she had an appointment with CEO Kingston and insisted on waiting here."
Finn made a simple gesture, and the staff member saluted and retreated.
Upon seeing him, Melissa Merce dropped her fierce demeanor, smiled brightly, and stepped forward to take his arm.
Finn, however, dodged her, "Melissa, there’s nothing complicated between us. You and I both know that the engagement was something the elders casually mentioned and never seriously arranged. I don’t like you, so your persistence is meaningless."
"Why don’t you like me?" The girl asked, aggrieved, her eyes glistening. "Am I not good enough for you? Right now, the family business, The Monroe Family, is the top-ranked in Veridia."

"I don’t care!" She beamed, revealing two rows of white teeth, "As long as I can be with you, I don’t care about anything, even if you want to live off The Monroe Family!"
Before Finn could say anything, she emphasized, "Now that I’ve found you, I will never let go again!"
"I have someone I like." Finn confessed, "I won’t like you, not before, not now, not ever."
"Is it that girl?" Melissa smiled, her eyes filled with disdain. "Her name is Hailey Hale, she’s the mayor’s daughter? To be honest, she’s too plain, and you know people in politics are hard to deal with. Such a union won’t bring you happiness in the future."
"Get out." Finn watched her coldly, "I believe I’ve said everything I needed to say."
"I told you I won’t let go!" Melissa insisted as well, "From now on, wherever you are, that’s where I’ll be! Unless you kill me!"
"Have some self-respect, would you?" Finn was really at his wit’s end. He swiftly grabbed her wrist and started to drag her out.
"Let go! Let go!!" The girl struggled.
At this moment, Justin Kingston appeared at the office door, hands in pockets, squinting at the two arguing.
When Melissa saw Justin, she stopped struggling, "Hello, CEO Kingston!" as if she saw a savior.
Finn glanced over, and sure enough, the boss was standing at the door. He didn’t yell, just continued holding the girl’s wrist tightly.
"Miss Monroe is here?" Justin’s lips curved slightly, as he took steps inside. "Long time no see."
"Let go, it hurts..." she struggled lightly.
Finn, however, tightened his grip slightly and directly yanked her out of the office, pulling her toward the elevator!
"Let go of me, Finn! Let go!!" Melissa refused to leave. She shouted, screaming, struggling, "Finn! When exactly will you marry me?!"
The loud voice precisely landed in the open-door office of the Vice President.
Into the ears of Mia Lane, Hailey Hale, and Barbara Sutton.
The sound of the tussle outside made the three exchange glances, and the noise quickly disappeared, guessing they had entered the elevator.
Hailey lowered her gaze, holding a pen to annotate documents, looking calm, with nothing on her mind.
Barbara glanced at her intentionally or otherwise. Today she had been sitting in the passenger seat, playing an unflattering role.
