If he said it out loud, that would be a big deal, Alaric Faulkner might connect the dots.
Alaric’s eyes became stern, tapping the table, he said, "Tell the truth."

He sighed deeply, feeling a sense of helplessness rising from his heart.
Before, Eleanor cared about Faye, and it was hard enough for him to make her waver a little.
