Seeing Eleanor Sterling fall silent, a hint of satisfaction flashed in Alaric Faulkner’s eyes.
This little woman was finally not avoiding him anymore.
Alaric turned and went to the kitchen, and shortly returned with a glass of honey water in his hand.
"Drink this, it’s good for a hangover headache."
Eleanor took it and sipped it slowly. The warm, sweet water slid gently down her throat into her stomach, making her feel comfortable.
Unknowingly, she finished the whole glass of water.
After finishing, she stole another glance at Alaric, looking as if she had words but was unable to speak.
Alaric glanced at her, and said coldly, "If you’re thinking of distancing yourself from me, you might as well keep quiet."
That wasn’t what she had in mind; she just wanted to ask about last night!
"You probably weren’t drunk last night, right? You could’ve pushed me away, couldn’t you?"
Alaric let out a cold laugh, looking at Eleanor, "The cocktail you and Stella Hawthorne drank was a special blend. You were so restless, pinning me down. If I really pushed you away, wouldn’t that have made you explode?"
Eleanor opened her mouth, speechless.
She drank that kind of liquor and then pinned Alaric down...
Thinking about that scene, she just wanted to bury herself in the ground.
She looked up and glanced at Alaric, indeed noticing a distinct bite mark on his neck, likely her handiwork.
Eleanor felt even more ashamed.
She quickly got up, using the pretense of freshening up to hide in the bathroom.
Looking at herself in the mirror, Eleanor patted her forehead, and finally sighed heavily.
Sigh, Eleanor, you’ve messed up.
Coming out of the bathroom again, Eleanor had sorted out all her emotions, as if nothing had ever happened.
On the table, a sumptuous breakfast had been prepared, delivered while Eleanor was in the bathroom by Alaric’s arrangement.
He was sitting in a chair, looking at some electronic gadget, possibly dealing with work, with a serious and focused demeanor that naturally exuded the charm of a mature man.
The food on the table was untouched, clearly waiting for her to join. Hearing the movement, Alaric looked up.
Eleanor walked over and sat down. Alaric pushed the prepared breakfast in front of her and considerately handed her a pair of chopsticks.
Unexpectedly, he was so attentive in his service that a thought suddenly flashed through Eleanor’s mind: Is this what having a boyfriend is like?
She took the chopsticks, speaking as calmly as possible, "Thank you."
After saying that, she bowed her head and began eating.
After eating for a while, Eleanor suddenly thought of something. She looked up and asked with some concern, "You said the cocktail last night had a problem. Stella also drank it; is she okay?"
Alaric’s eyes were inscrutable as he said lightly, "If something happens, it’ll be with Xander Lawson. What are you worried about?"
"Oh." Eleanor thought about Xander, who was always with Stella, and said, "Maybe Xander is a gentleman and will stay by Stella’s side properly without doing anything excessive."
Upon hearing this, Mr. Faulkner’s face darkened.
The implication was that Xander seemed like a gentleman, but he sure as hell looked like a bad guy, didn’t he?
Isn’t Xander a man? He just doesn’t believe Stella, if she really stripped in front of him, that he could resist.
Alaric let out a dissatisfied cold laugh.
Eleanor knew he was displeased with her words, secretly thinking: He’s already consumed her completely, why pretend?
