Inside the Faulkner Family’s old residence.
After Eleanor Sterling and Alaric Faulkner entered, Estelle Sterling and Caleb Faulkner ran over to greet them together.
For a moment, Eleanor actually felt like she and Alaric were late-returning parents, with two kids waiting for them at home.
"Sister Eleanor, tonight we prepared a lot of delicious food to celebrate your first day of living together with Uncle Faulkner!"

But it was only after Estelle’s reminder that Eleanor remembered her room was the same as Alaric’s.

Alaric reached out, draping his arm around her shoulders and led her towards the dining room.
Just as they sat down, Old Master Faulkner and Mrs. Faulkner came downstairs.

Caleb was frustrated to death. He wanted to speak but remembering something, he ultimately said nothing.
Seeing this, Estelle laughed, "Great-Grandmother, Caleb also wants to thank you."
Mrs. Faulkner looked at Caleb, who blinked his big eyes and nodded eagerly.
She sighed and asked Alaric, "When will Caleb’s issue be resolved?"
Alaric replied solemnly, "Elder Sawyer is already working on a cure, it might be soon."
Mrs. Faulkner sighed. Her poor Caleb had suffered, but as long as he was fine, that was all that mattered.
Everyone was eating happily and harmoniously when suddenly someone came down from upstairs. It was Alaric’s mother, Susan Langley.
Seeing them already having dinner and not having been called, her face immediately darkened.
"Why didn’t you call me for dinner?"
Mrs. Faulkner snorted, "You should have the self-awareness."
She never welcomed Susan, let alone enthusiastically hosted her, so how could she have invited her to dinner.
The Faulkner Family residence was large, with several detached villas inside.
Mrs. Faulkner had arranged for Alaric and Caleb to live in the main residence, showing just how much she valued the two of them.
Even when other branches of the family came, they didn’t receive such treatment, merely staying in the villas next door and coming to the main residence when available.
Susan didn’t pay attention to Mrs. Faulkner’s words, pulled out a chair by herself, and sat down, leaving the servants no choice but to serve her a bowl and chopsticks.
After she sat down, the originally relaxed and pleasant atmosphere instantly became stifled.
Caleb couldn’t speak, and Estelle didn’t curry favor with Susan, so without the interactions of the two little ones, the atmosphere naturally became tense.
Seeing Eleanor seated next to Alaric, Susan couldn’t help but frown.
