There was not much familial affection among them, only the focus on the Faulkner fortune.
The other branches had their fathers to protect them, while Alaric only had his brother, putting him at somewhat of a disadvantage.

But with the Old Master still healthy, everyone was biding their time, maintaining a superficial peace.
