These days, Alaric Faulkner has been staying in the villa accompanying Eleanor Sterling. When she asked him why he had so much free time, he told her he wasn’t busy at the moment and could spend more time with her.
Eleanor Sterling sat on the rocking chair in the hallway reading a book. It was warm outside, and the weather was perfect.
Alaric Faulkner walked over and looked down at her, "Since when did you start liking reading?"
After closing the book, Eleanor Sterling smiled, "You don’t let me play on my phone, and there are no other entertainment facilities here. What else can I do besides read?"
She complained with a bit of dissatisfaction, "I suspect that soon, I’ll be out of touch with society."
Alaric Faulkner leaned down close to her, then took the book from her hands and set it aside, wrapped his arms around her waist, and picked her up. Eleanor Sterling exclaimed and quickly hugged his neck.
He carried her back to the bedroom and placed her on the large bed, "You can play with me."
Eleanor Sterling scoffed and gave him a sidelong glance, "Be serious, it’s a critical time now, don’t mess around."
"What are you thinking? I meant you can play with my phone. I’m letting you play for two hours today."
It’s not her fault she misunderstood. His words are easily misleading.
Alaric Faulkner took out his phone from his pocket and handed it to her.
He knew that using the excuse of nurturing her health to keep Eleanor Sterling away from phones and other items for a long time would make her suspicious; she was too clever for that.
Eleanor Sterling took it, still looking a bit dazed, momentarily unsure of what to play with as she hadn’t touched a phone in what felt like ages.
After unlocking the screen, she randomly tapped around.
She checked the news for a while; it was all a mess with nothing of interest.
Then she looked through his messages and the like, all clean with no traces of other women, making her quite satisfied.
After just five minutes, Eleanor Sterling felt bored.
While adults today seemingly can’t live without electronics, once separated from them, she found she didn’t have any addiction to them.
Eleanor Sterling returned the phone to Alaric Faulkner and hummed, "Why did you offer your phone for me to play with? Are you trying to prove that you haven’t been unfaithful? Who knows if you’ve wiped your tracks clean?"
Alaric Faulkner leaned over her, his long fingers brushing her cheek, his eyes extremely gentle.

Eleanor Sterling snorted softly; another business trip, no wonder he let her check.

He kissed her on the lips and then said, "I’ll have a unique ring custom-made for you."
Eleanor Sterling already had the full set of jewelry symbolizing the position of Faulkner Family matron, but not a ring personally given by Alaric Faulkner.
Hearing his words, her heart blossomed with joy.
Gazing at her lovely face, Alaric Faulkner murmured, "Eleanor, I love you."
Eleanor Sterling smiled, "I love you too."
