Uchiha Kei: Game Dev in the Shinobi World Chapter 150

Uchiha Shisui—an important figure in the Uchiha clan—was one of those supporting characters in the original series who, despite his stellar character design, barely appeared on-screen.

Yes, that's right—a background character.

This isn't to insult Uchiha Shisui; it's simply how the manga portrayed him. Despite his hype, his appearances were minimal. Even the scene where he's ambushed by Danzo and has his Mangekyō Sharingan stolen takes up only a few pages, portrayed almost like a "chicken fight," cutting corners wherever possible.

The anime, on the other hand, gave him much more screen time—complete with power boosts. That eye-stealing fight? He goes full Susanoo with a single eye and fends off Root assassins like a war god.

After his death, Shisui's eye became a story prop in many ways, used and abused by multiple characters—maximizing the narrative mileage of a background asset.

Of course, that's just the original story. When everything becomes reality, Uchiha Kei treats Shisui as a top-tier genius to watch out for.

Why? Because Kotoamatsukami—the ultimate genjutsu that can rewrite someone's will—cannot be taken lightly.

Uchiha Kei had no intention of leading the Uchiha clan to glory only to have Shisui pull a fast one under Danzo's manipulation.

Sure, Kei believed he'd one day become immune to all genjutsu thanks to continuous system upgrades, but what if Shisui awakened his Mangekyō early and got compromised before then?

With talents like that, you raise them early. Become their idol, their white moonlight. When the time comes, your word is law.

This wasn't a dig at Shisui's intelligence—he was a pure-hearted idealist. In the manga, he was tricked into giving his eye to the Leaf elders, and when betrayed, he chose suicide over turning dark like Obito.

So how does Shisui feel about Uchiha Kei?

Worship. Pure, unadulterated worship.

To Shisui, Uchiha Kei is a living legend—the sage who brought salvation and transformation to the Uchiha clan.

In just a few months, the clan changed more than it had in decades since founding the Leaf with the Senju.

"Thanks to Lord Kei," "It's all Lord Kei's doing," "He achieved what no one else could"—these sentiments echoed in every Uchiha mouth.

They saw the village's acceptance, the people's admiration, tangible benefits, more Sharingan awakenings—all thanks to Kei.

The Uchiha elders even led the idol worship, stirring fervent devotion among the masses. Many would gladly rip out their hearts for Lord Kei.

The clan's elite guard became a hotly coveted position. At first, it was criticized—"Why use three-tomoe elites as guards? Isn't that a waste?" But now?

Let's just say, to quote a meme: "To serve as Lord Kei's dog is the highest honor!"

Kids are impressionable. In this climate, every child viewed Kei as their ultimate idol. Some went as far as to swear lifelong loyalty.

Shisui was one of them. As the grandson of Uchiha Kagami, his outlook was always different—he had a strong affinity for the village.

At just four, Shisui saw the divide between clan and village and hoped to bridge it like his grandfather once did.

Yeah, a four-year-old thinking that is absurd. But this is the shinobi world—remember, Itachi was contemplating nihilism at the same age.

So when this child saw the clan change, achieving what he and his grandfather never could—what else could he feel but awe?

"Not human—he's Kami-sama!"

That's how he saw Lord Kei.

When Shisui learned he'd been selected to help test a new game Kei created, he was stunned, ecstatic, honored—and confused. Why him?

Under the envious eyes of his kin, Shisui followed a guard to Kei's residence.

There, he found others: Hatake Kakashi and Uchiha Obito—both famous. Kakashi, son of the White Fang, was the number one prodigy of their generation. Obito was the clan's oddball—once the "shame of the Uchiha" but now reborn.

After awakening his Sharingan with a 2+3 tomoe combo—a rarity in Uchiha history—Obito proved his bloodline's supremacy. Now he stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Kakashi, representing the clan's future.

Then there was Might Guy. Shisui didn't know him well, but he knew he was Kakashi and Obito's classmate, a taijutsu user, and the son of Might Duy—whom Kei personally valued and hired as the Uchiha clan's security enforcer.

Despite being a "forever Genin," Might Duy was respected within the clan. Kei's trust in him led the Uchiha to treat him with rare patience and honor.

Moved by such treatment, Might Duy retired from active service and joined the clan's Game Commerce Guild as a full-time mercenary. The Leaf had no objection—he was seen as a no-account Genin anyway.

Shisui knew all this. He'd been collecting intel on Kei since forever. As someone likely to graduate early—possibly even younger than Itachi—he was skilled in ninja basics, including info gathering.

He greeted his seniors politely. Obito and Guy responded warmly. Obito even dragged a sulky Kakashi over to say hi.

Obito reassured Shisui: "Kei-senpai is a great guy. A little eccentric, but brilliant. He's got a plan. Just do what he says, no need to overthink."

Shisui watched Kakashi's face. Despite the grumbling, Kakashi didn't contradict Obito—clear proof that everything Obito said was true.

So Shisui accepted it. Totally. He joined the countless others who silently echoed: "Lord Kei always has a deeper meaning. We're just too ordinary to understand."

Even though Shisui was hailed as a prodigy, compared to Kei, all Uchiha geniuses seemed average.

The idol filter was real. Especially now that the clan was fully in "Kei-only" mode, fandom had reached insane levels.

Then Kei entered, smiling gently, greeting each of the four kids like a kind older brother—an "Aizen with glasses" type vibe.

Even Kakashi bowed respectfully. Obito and Guy babbled away happily. Kei listened with patient smiles, offering feedback.

Shisui, watching from the side, felt more moved with each passing second.

"Lord Kei really is different—gentle, humble, nothing like the usual arrogant Uchiha. If anyone else had his status, they'd never speak to juniors ."

That simple kindness, to Shisui, felt like divine grace. He trembled with emotion, barely able to speak.

And when Kei noticed his gaze— Googlᴇ search 𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭·𝔣𝔦𝔯𝔢·𝗇𝗲𝘵

"Huh? What's with that look? Isn't Shisui supposed to be mature? Why does he look more fanatical than the other crazed Uchiha?"

"I mean, I wanted his loyalty eventually... but already? I haven't even done anything yet..."

Still, this saved him the trouble of winning Shisui over.

So Kei gave him a warm smile and gently encouraged him: "Don't worry, we're just testing a new game. You're a true prodigy—I've heard a lot about you. Keep up the great work."

That gentle approval sent Shisui into raptures. Trembling, he pledged himself—heart and soul—to Lord Kei.

Mission accomplished.

Kei hadn't expected to win such loyalty so fast. He underestimated how easily pure-hearted idealists like Shisui could be swayed by charisma and atmosphere.

In the original timeline, Shisui was moved by everyone's praise of Lord Third and pledged himself accordingly.

But he chose the wrong man. Lord Third was no Second Hokage, and his old buddy Danzo ensured Shisui's dreams would die with him.

But in this rewritten shinobi world—where Kei existed—Shisui's faith would not be misplaced.

And so, Kei led the four kids into a specially prepared room, unsealed a genjutsu-based game scroll, and welcomed them into his creation—
