"Yeah, she used to wear glasses, I assume? I don’t recall anyone of that sort.
Lukas said he was not certain he had met this girl or he simply couldn’t recall anyone with this name.
"Well, she is still in the school, but I’ll take you to meet her, she always pesters me to meet you.
Noah said he was kind of paying wingman for his own brother.
"I think I will pass. I already have a girlfriend and, on top of that, a mistress."
Lukas said softly, "He doesn’t want his parents to know about this stuff," so he was almost whispering.
"Eh? Two? You have two girls? Tell me about them.
Noah was instantly excited, he wanted to know more about girls from his big brother.
"LUKE AND NOAH, DINNER TABLE NOW."
From downstairs a huge shout came from Ronald, who was calling the brothers to eat.
"Guess it will have to wait."
Lukas said, and Noah nodded in agreement.
Both brothers came down and saw Roy was already eating at the dining table. Lukas was a little weirded out by it because he thought they’d be eating together.
"Sorry, boss, I was hungry, so I started early."
Roy said when his eyes met with Lukas, he was almost finished with his pie.
"It’s alright, eat up."
Lukas said with a nod of his head and a smile on his face.
When Lukas and Noah came downstairs, they heard someone was knocking on their doors, so Noah went ahead and opened it and saw Rosa was standing there with a plate covered with aluminum foil.
"I brought roasted turkey."
Rosa said with a smile and peeked inside the house, seeing Lukas standing nearby, she smiled and entered the house promptly.
"Rosa, you brought what?"
Maggie asked, she was shocked seeing Rosa bring food because the whole neighborhood knows how stingy Rosa is.
"Turkey, why are you asking like that?"
Rosa frowned and asked back, she looked like a very caring person and ready to defend her honor.
"Nothing, I thought I heard it wrong."
Maggie said she was also in a little disbelief.
"Lukas, my son, How are you? After you’ve gone to the city, do you know my garden was so lonely without you?
Rosa said she used to pay 2 dollars an hour to Lukas for watering her garden and also uprooting some twigs.
"Yeah, I have never once missed it, the two-dollar-per-hour job was the least thing I can miss."
Lukas said bluntly, "He knows how this woman is, she is like a venomous snake. In his last life, when his parents were at their low, she kicked them where it hurt and almost brought about their demise by complaining to the loan sharks."
"Ahahaha, eat this, Turkey, let bygones be bygones."
Rosa said she felt a little awkward, but she wanted to be as close as possible with this rising superstar.
"No need. My mother has made me my favorite pie, so I’ll be eating that, and no one here wants to eat a turkey today. You can leave now."
Lukas said bluntly he was not fond of this woman at all.
Maggie wanted to talk to solve the issue, but her husband, Ronald, grabbed her arm and shook his head.
After a bit of awkward talk, Rosa left, but the whole neighborhood now knew Lukas was here, and they wanted an autograph and a picture, of course.
Ronald had to go outside and tell everyone to calm down, and after the dinner, Lukas will meet everyone and give them an autograph.
"Come, let’s eat, they won’t leave until you give them an autograph."
Ronald said he then prepared four plates, and the family sat together after a long while to eat something together.
"Luke, how’s your study? Is everything fine there?"
Maggie asked, she was also concerned about Lukas’s studies.
"It’s fine. I missed several classes this week because of the baseball, but it’s fine otherwise."
Lukas replied that he was a little frustrated because of it, but he reckoned he could manage.
"You do whatever you think is good. You never liked studies anyway, so maybe this is for the better."
Ronald asked, "Being a father doesn’t mean he will impose his ideas on his kids."
"I know I still want to continue studying while maintaining a healthy schedule. I will see where it takes me."
Lukas replied with a laugh, because before coming back in time, he was still a lazy boy and scored well on the SAT just by studying hard in the last six months.
"Alright, enough study and play topics. Tell me, is there a girl you like?"
Maggie asked, she was very excited, and Noah’s nose flared up, he was biting his lips because he might burst into laughter.
Lukas was not sure how to say to his mother that he has a girlfriend now and whose name he should take.
"What do you mean?" Don’t tell me, I actually don’t mind if you are a little different.
Maggie said she was actually making a face that was saying she was a little disgusted at the idea.
"He’s not gay, he has a girlfriend, and she is this."
Ronald said, and then showed Lukas’s mother a newspaper article that showed Lukas and a woman whose face can’t be seen on a dark road.
Lukas, seeing the article, was relieved because he thought everyone might know that Annie was his girlfriend and might give her a bad name in the industry.
"Eh! Why didn’t you show it to me earlier?
Maggie, seeing the newspaper, took it in her hand and started to read it out loud.
"Baseball superstar’s girlfriend?" The recent superstar of the Phillies was seen with an unknown girl just outside the hotel he was staying in...
"Mother, please, you can read that later."
Lukas felt embarrassed and told her to read it later.
"Okay, so tell me about her. What’s her name?"
Maggie asked, she was very curious about this girlfriend of her son.
