Ultimate DMC Sytem In Marvel Chapter 6

Alex frowned. What the hell did he just tell her? He stepped forward, his tone sharp. "Whoever you are, just leave."

But the guy cut him off with a glare. "Did you just order me?"

Alex blinked, briefly wondering if his words had come off as a threat. Then he looked at the guy again—who now glared at him like Alex had just sold his kidneys.

The guy stepped closer, fists clenched. It looked like he was about to throw a punch.

But suddenly—CRACK.

A sharp, dart-like object flew from the direction of the shadow Fury and struck the man square in the forehead. He stumbled backward, eyes rolling, and collapsed against the table. His head hit the wood with a sickening thud.

Alex staggered back, stunned, as a small pool of blood began to form under the man’s head.

It rose from his stomach before he could stop it—a thick, involuntary wave.

Puke.

Alex doubled over and vomited into the trash bin beside the couch, gasping for breath. It was the first time he’d seen real blood like that—and it hit harder than he expected.

Sue gasped, hands trembling as she stepped away from the unconscious body.

Alex wiped his mouth with the sleeve of his hoodie and looked up at her, still dazed.

"He’s not dead," he said hoarsely. "I think."

Sue didn’t respond right away. She looked pale, too stunned by the blood to speak.

"What do we do?" she finally whispered.

Alex let out a bitter laugh. "Really, woman? Call the ambulance. What else can you do unless you’re a doctor yourself?" He rubbed his face, trying to focus through the adrenaline and nausea.

Then he saw it: a key.

It had slipped from the guy’s jacket pocket during the fall, now glinting faintly on the floor.

Alex’s eyes locked on it. "You should go," he said quietly. "This guy? He’s a rapist. A drug dealer. Maybe worse. You stay with him, you’ll end up in a body bag."

Sue hesitated, her breath shaky. Her eyes bounced between the guy and Alex. Doubt clouded her expression.

"How can I be sure you’re not lying?" she whispered.

Alex sighed. "Then don’t believe me. Just call the ambulance. Otherwise, we’ll both be charged with murder."

That hit her. Sue stepped back, pulling out her phone and dialing emergency services with trembling fingers. Alex watched her closely as she gave them the address.

"Now, wrap a tight cloth around his head to stop the bleeding," Alex instructed as she cut a piece of cloth. She hesitated, then wrapped it around the guy’s head, tying it tightly to stem the blood flow.

"What now?" she asked, glancing up at Alex, who was slouched back on the couch.

"Well, that’s most of the medical stuff I know," Alex replied, running a hand through his hair. "Now we just wait."

Sue looked at him, still uncertain. "You don’t look like one of them."

Alex raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"

"Sam told me that you’re a gangster," she said, eyes wide as she sized him up.

Alex chuckled bitterly. "Yeah, well, I guess I fit the part, huh? But no, I’m just some dumb kid who grew up on video games. Got lost in the wrong crowd... never really cared much for anything else."

He slumped further into the couch, his words laced with sarcasm but undercut with a tinge of truth. There was a long, tense silence before Sue spoke again.

She studied him for a moment, her expression curious, cautious.

"Are you not... a druggie?" she asked again, this time softer.

"Me? Not exactly," Alex replied, sighing. ’The previous owner of this body was. I’m not.’

Sue blinked. "What do you mean—not exactly?"

Alex glanced over at the man lying unconscious on the floor, then back at her, his expression hard.

"It’s complicated," he said. "One day... I caught him raping a girl. I tried to run, but he found me first. Drugged me—heavy stuff. Next thing I know, I wake up, and he’s there, standing over me, threatening me."

He exhaled shakily and continued. "Said if I told anyone, the cops would never believe me. Said no cops will trsut some junkie with a broken story, and he’d walk while I got blamed. Because I had drugs in my system. Because he didn’t."

Sue stared at him, her mouth slightly open, disbelief and horror written across her face. She couldn’t tell if he was lying or if she had just stumbled into a nightmare.

"And because my body was already full of drugs when I woke up," Alex added bitterly, "even if I tried to go to the cops, they’d throw me in jail or rehab and forget I ever said a word."

Silence fell between them.

Sue looked down at the guy again—the bloody bandage soaking through, the quiet, still body—and her expression changed. It wasn’t just fear anymore. It was realization. This wasn’t just a bad hookup or some toxic boyfriend. This was something deeper. Darker.

"So... what are you going to do?" she asked quietly.

Alex leaned forward, eyes locked on the key still lying under the edge of the table.

"First, after making sure he is in hospital, I will find whatever dirt he’s been hiding in his house and use it to clear myself—and get him out of my life for good."

He turned to her. "You in? I could use the help."

Sue hesitated. "I’m just a stranger to you. If we break into his place or whatever, I want something in return."

Alex narrowed his eyes. "Money?"

She nodded. "Life’s not exactly been fair to me either," she said with a sigh. "If I’m going to risk it, I need something to show for it."

Alex looked at her a moment longer, seeing something honest—something worn but real.

"Yeah," he said quietly. "Life’s not fair to anyone"

"You’ll get what’s fair," Alex promised, standing as sirens began to wail faintly in the distance.

They both looked toward the door as flashing lights painted the windows red and blue.
