Chapter 145: Heir of Hell
The Ancient One, face pale, asked Dormammu.
“Dormammu…why have you all gathered here, in Limbo?”
Dormammu, a huge figure with a flaming head, glanced at the Ancient One.
“Ah, it’s you. Sorcerer Supreme.”
“Answer me!”
“Dormammu doesn’t bargain with mortals. Know your place.”
Dormammu’s eyes flickered with flames as he glared at the Ancient One.
“Hahaha, you don’t have to be so stiff, Dormammu. Let me answer that question.”
Asmodeus, a demon with short horns and an obese body, laughed as he spoke.
He glanced at the puny humans before him and revealed a nasty grin.
“You see, this is a competition.”
“A competition means there’s a prize and someone who initiated this.”
Benjamin frowned.
Asmodeus laughed as he nodded.
“Hahaha! That’s right!”
“What kind of prize can make all five of you fight to compete for it!?”
The Ancient One asked.
“What else, but the ownership of Hell! Hahahahaha!”
The Ancient One’s eyes widened.
Tony opened his mouth and asked in disbelief.
“Wait, you can ‘own’ Hell? Is it some kind of real estate!?”
Asmodeus grinned.
“It’s a huge chunk of Underworld real estate. The current owner, Marduk Kurios, has a daughter. And he’s searching for a son-in-law to become the Heir of Hell.”
“The woman’s just a side piece. Hell is the true prize.”
Another demon wearing a long cape chuckled. This was Mephisto.
“Heh. It’s cute how you all think you have the chance. Hell belongs to me.”
Lucifer, a huge demon with large bull-horns on his head, sneered as he looked at the other demons.
Mephisto’s eyes narrowed.
“Don’t count your chickens before they hatch, Lucifer. I haven’t revealed my trump cards yet.”
“Your Riders do not scare me, Mephisto.”
Lucifer scoffed.
“That’s because you haven’t met Johnny.”
Mephisto sneered.
As the demons started bickering amongst themselves, Benjamin and the rest were ignored.
“Ben, we must leave while we can!”
The Ancient One urged Benjamin.
“I’m with the bald chick! We need to get out of here!”
“...As much as I hate it, I can’t kill Belasco now. Let’s leave, Ben.”
Tony and Illyana also agreed.
Benjamin glanced at them with a smile.
“No need to hurry. I was just getting worried about looking for these guys one at a time. Now it’s just right. They all gathered for me.”
White symbiote began covering his body and hellfire engulfed his head in flames. At the same time, speedforce electricity started flickering around his body, merging with the flames of hellfire.
Benjamin wasn’t done.
He stretched out his hand and a pitch-black Necrosword appeared from his shadows.
A golden crown appeared on his head with three glittering gems.
Soul, Reality, and Space.
At this time, the demons finally took notice of Benjamin.
Lucifer fell silent and asked.
“...Mephisto, Is this Johnny?”
“...Nope.”
“...Please tell me this one is one of yours.”
“...Nope.”
“...Fuck.”
Benjamin grinned.
“Don’t worry. I won’t use the Infiity Stones on you guys.”
Lightning flickered in Benjamin’s hollow eyes.
“Don’t die too early~”
Asmodeus no longer bothered and quickly tried to flee but everyone only saw a flicker and suddenly, Asmodeus was cut in half.
Maggots flowed out from his body instead of blood.
“Ugh, disgusting.”
Benjamin frowned and waved his hand, disintegrating everything with hellfire.
Everyone finally reacted and launched their attacks but Benjamin was too fast.
Mephisto only saw a flash of light appear in his vision before everything went black.
“No…you’re a Ghost Rider…you should belong to me…!”
“I belong to no one but my wives.”
Benjamin waved his hand again and soon, Mephisto was nothing but ashes.
Lucifer swung a huge axe at him, only to be grabbed by Benjamin with his bare hand.
“Just what kind of monstrosity are you!? You’re no human!”
“This coming from a demon like you? I’m hurt.”
Benjamin waved another hand and Lucifer’s vision spun.
His head was already flying.
Soon, he was another set of ashes.
At this moment, a wave of dark energy engulfed Benjamin.
Dormammu had unleashed his attack which landed a hit!
However…
“That tickles.”
Benjamin glanced at Dormammu.
“...Let’s bargain.”
“Unfortunately for you, I didn’t come to bargain.”
Benjamin turned his hand over to Dormammu and a concentrated burst of hellfire shot out.
“Noo-!!!”
Finally, only Belasco remained.
When Belasco felt the human’s gaze upon him, he stumbled backward and fell down.
“W-wait! Don’t kill me! I can be of use! I’ll be your servant!”
Benjamin glanced at him then turned to Illyana.
“He’s all yours.”
“...Thank you.”
Illyana started to walk towards Belasco. Her soulsword engulfed with Benjamin’s hellfire.
Belasco saw the situation and was angered.
Never has he been mocked to this extent!
So you’re not even going to finish me yourself, you send this brat to fight me instead!?
I’ll show you!
“BELASCO!”
Illyana shouted in anger as she charged ahead.
Belasco, also angered, shouted back.
“DARKCHYLDE!!!”
An earth-shattering clash.
When the dust settled, everyone saw a huge demon sliced in half and covered in flames.
“This…can’t be…”
Belasco muttered as he soon faded into ashes.
Illyana closed her eyes and savored the moment.
Finally, she felt free from her past.
