"Ugh…enough with the threats, sourpuss," Eleanor, now inhabiting the body of college student Theodora, huffed at Liam. Their fake relationship, she complained, was making her life a living hell, especially with Naomi already suspecting something was amiss. Liam then whispered that he was addressing Naomi's suspicions by removing any doubt, his fingers tightening on her waist as he implied their intimate proximity would dispel any questions. Earlier, Eleanor, aged 23, died in a car accident en route to an interview. Instead of the afterlife, she awoke in the body of Theodora, a side character from a book she'd read.
