"Ouyang Mommy, what were you just talking about?"
Ke'er asked curiously with her innocent, clear eyes while standing at the top of the stairs.
Ouyang Xiaoya's face was almost turning black.
The adult topic had been overheard by her goddaughter.
Lin Hai's mouth was agape, his hand lowering without a sound.
Facing Ke'er's question, Ouyang Xiaoya truly didn't know how to respond.
"Ouyang Mommy, tell Ke'er, please." Ke'er said coquettishly.
Ouyang Xiaoya wished she could find a crack in the ground to crawl into, looking at Lin Hai, the instigator, who was wearing an innocent look. So infuriating!
The question was just too difficult to answer.
"Ouyang Mommy, why do I have the feeling that there was some kind of evil vibe just now?"
Ke'er blinked her eyes, with an appearance of pure desire to learn, and staggered over to Ouyang Xiaoya, looking up expectantly.
Ouyang Xiaoya was completely speechless.
"Daughter, you're my real daughter, I beg you, stop asking." Lin Hai said, covering his face and speaking awkwardly.
Ouyang Xiaoya glared furiously at Lin Hai, embarrassed to the extreme.
"Alright, I won't ask anymore. I'll ask Teacher Ning when school starts." Ke'er expressed her own thoughts, clearly not having lost her curiosity.
The Teacher Lin Ke'er was referring to was the young female teacher at the kindergarten today.
Lin Hai remembered that the teacher had a nice curve to her behind, entering from the back... Shaking his head, he was thinking too much again.
Lin Hai and Ouyang Xiaoya spoke out at the same time, exchanging glances.
"Hmph!" Ouyang Xiaoya turned her head away.
"Ke'er, you'll understand this issue when you grow up. It's not appropriate for you now, and you can't ask your teacher either, or you might get a spanking, got it?" Lin Hai said gravely, like a kind father imparting wisdom to his daughter, though the topic of this 'wisdom' was a bit sleazy.
"Oh, I see." Ke'er nodded understandingly. In her little heart, Lin Hai Daddy would never lie to her; she had to listen to Lin Hai Daddy.
Ouyang Xiaoya breathed a sigh of relief. If the little girl really went to ask the kindergarten teacher, she figured she'd never have the face to drop off and pick up the child at kindergarten again; too embarrassing, making others think their home life must be in utter chaos.
"Daddy, Ouyang Mommy, why do the kids at kindergarten say I'm a wild child?" Ke'er pouted, looking a bit upset.
"Who said that? Daddy will go teach them a lesson!" Lin Hai's eyebrows furrowed. Ke'er was so well-behaved, at such a young age, she mustn't be left with any psychological scars.
Ouyang Xiaoya furiously grabbed Lin Hai by the ear: "Is this how you educate a child? Teaching them lessons? Do you think it's okay to say things in front of our daughter?"
"Ow, wife, it hurts, stop, not in front of the child," Lin Hai grimaced in pain.
Realizing Ke'er was present, Ouyang Xiaoya reluctantly let go, coughed, straightened her clothes, and returned to her ladylike demeanor. Then, hugging Ke'er tightly, she explained earnestly, "Good daughter, you're not a wild child at all. Next time somebody says that, you ask those kids if their home has a little broken Maybach or a tiny 1200-square-meter house. Godmother promises, after that, they'll never say anything again."
Lin Hai broke out in a cold sweat listening.
The CEO wife was teaching their young daughter how to slap people in the face, hard.
"Hey, wife, you can't educate a child . This is attracting hatred, and I don't want our daughter to be isolated and grow up alone at kindergarten," Lin Hai argued in a loud voice.
Ouyang Xiaoya glared at him, her frustration palpable as she said, "It's still better than having you educate our child, you beast. What if the kid grows up and turns out to be sleazy?"
"I call that being tactful and worldly, it's a life philosophy and wisdom. What do you know?" Lin Hai protested.
However, Lin Hai didn't dare to argue further. He really couldn't teach a little girl, for if Ke'er grew up and actually inherited his personality, the thought of her exuding sleaze at every handsome guy she sees... the thought alone was unbearable, his eyelids twitching uncontrollably.
Just thinking about it, Lin Hai promptly shut up. The sheer terror of the thought – he guessed Ouyang Xiaoya would be furious enough to devour him alive.
"Daddy, Mommy, am I your child then?" Ke'er asked again.
Lin Hai and Ouyang Xiaoya looked at each other. This time, quite remarkably, they were in sync, saying in unison, "Yes!"
After speaking, Lin Hai put on a flattering expression as if to say, "Wife, look at our amazing understanding."
The result was a disdainful glance from Ouyang Xiaoya.
Lin Hai touched the back of his head awkwardly and decided not to lower himself to arguing with a woman.
Ke'er continued to ask, "Then did you and Mommy get me after topping up your phone credit?"
"What the hell does 'topping up phone credit' mean??"
"Is this, perhaps, a very subtle question?"
Ouyang Xiaoya's questioning gaze rested on Lin Hai's face.
"Hey, wife, don't look at me, I didn't teach the kid this stuff." This was serious, and Lin Hai hurried to explain.
Ouyang Xiaoya was clearly not convinced and coldly huffed, "Beast, your sleaziness has seriously rubbed off on the child!"
"I'm innocent, wrongly accused!" Lin Hai felt extremely wronged.
Ke'er spoke up to clear Lin Hai's name, "Ouyang Mom, it wasn't Dad who taught me."
"Good girl, quickly tell your godmother who taught you? Daddy will go and take them out—uh, no, go and reason with them." Lin Hai was immensely grateful in his heart.
"It was Doudou from kindergarten," Ke'er said innocently.
"Sh*t! Who the hell is Doudou?!" Lin Hai blurted out.
"Doudou is a little friend of mine in kindergarten, but sadly, Doudou got expelled," Ke'er said with a sigh of pity.
"Because Doudou said they wanted to take the teacher to see the goldfish…" Ke'er answered truthfully.
"To see... to see goldfish, pfft!" Lin Hai snorted, almost laughing out loud.
Ouyang Xiaoya was stunned, thinking what a handful that child must be, still in kindergarten and already talking about taking teachers to see goldfish.
"Daddy, what does it mean to see goldfish? I want to see goldfish, too. Daddy, take me to see goldfish," Ke'er looked up at Lin Hai with expectant eyes that twinkled like little stars.
"This…" Lin Hai was in a bind.
"Let Ouyang Mom take you to see them, Daddy better not," Lin Hai said dryly.
"Mommy, Ouyang Mom, take me to see goldfish," Ke'er looked at Ouyang Xiaoya innocently and full of eager anticipation.
Ouyang Xiaoya was about to go crazy, and Lin Hai snickered secretly on the side.
