"Manager, the boss isn't interested. He said he wouldn't do it no matter how much money we offered!" reported an employee from a major tech company after failing to persuade Pure White.
"Wow, they're really not budging..." the leader shook his head. "If that's the case, let's try reaching out to the other top fifty players."
"Alright..."
The company had always been eager to acquire [New World] studio. After approaching Jane last time and being rejected, they had been trying to locate [New World] studio. However, despite extensive searching, they found no trace of [New World]!
This puzzled them. It seemed unlikely that a studio capable of developing such a groundbreaking game would leave no clues. With no other options, they decided to continue researching [New World's] new game. Since Pure White was uncooperative, they sought someone who would be.
They quickly identified another player from the top 50. This time, negotiations went smoothly. The company offered the player 10,000 yuan to copy the game for them. For the player, earning 10,000 yuan for a soon-to-be-released game seemed like easy money.
However, the result was...
As soon as the player attempted to copy the game, a dialog box popped up: 'Cub, I'm so disappointed in you,' accompanied by a magical panda emoji. Moments later, the screen flickered, and the game vanished!

"No, why is it gone?" the staff member asked, puzzled.
The player explained what had happened. The staff quickly realized, "I understand, [New World] likely included a Trojan program in 'Deep Sea Trek.' Once you attempt to modify the game files, it activates and deletes everything."
"What do I do now?!" the player was at a loss. "I just downloaded this game, and I haven't even played it yet. You asked me to copy it, and now it's gone. You have to take responsibility!"
"Don't panic, I'll consult with the leadership," the staff member reassured him. The player waited anxiously, and after a few minutes, the staff returned.
"There is a solution!" the staff exclaimed.
"What is it?" the player asked eagerly.
"You can file a lawsuit against [New World]! Accuse them of installing a Trojan virus on your computer!"
Player: "???"
"Is that seriously a solution?!" the player was dumbfounded and shouted in disbelief.
"Why not? You might win the lawsuit. It appears [New World] did install a Trojan on your computer," the staff replied. "By suing, you can reclaim your rights!"
This idea came from a company leader who believed it would be a clever way to draw [New World] out. The player's rights were secondary; they merely wanted to use this as a tactic to uncover [New World].
"I don't want to escalate things like that! Going to court and everything!" the player protested. He had a reputation to consider! He had promised [New World] not to distribute the game. To break that promise and then blame [New World]? That was like reenacting the fable of the farmer and the snake!
Moreover, he hadn't suffered any real loss. If he sued [New World], who knew if he would even win?
"Then there's nothing we can do," the staff said bluntly. "If you don't want to sue, we're out of options."
"??? So you're just going to leave me hanging?" the player fumed. "I did what you asked, and now that the game is gone, you should at least compensate me!"
"Sorry, the loss was your own doing, and it has nothing to do with us," the staff replied before hanging up.
Since this player couldn't be leveraged to sue [New World], the company had no further interest in him. Just a waste of time.
"Curse you, tech company!" the player shouted in frustration after being abruptly hung up on. He had lost big time! No money, no game!
