Chapter 11: Kicking the Door
Yang Yu knew he had no choice—if he wanted to survive, he had to submit to the sinister system.

The system began its countdown.
“Of course, I’ll keep doing the tasks. I was just joking earlier,” Yang Yu shamelessly said.
“Congratulations, Host, on making the right decision,” the system responded.
Yang Yu had no other option. For the sake of his life, he had to play the villain.
“System, didn’t you say the store is open? How do I access it?” Yang Yu asked.
“Would you like to open the system store?” the system inquired.
“Open it.”
“Opening system store, please wait.”

“The system store is now open. The host has ten minutes to choose an item. After ten minutes, the store will close. Moving forward, the host can access the store once for every world mission completed,” the system explained.
The store displayed only five available items, while the rest were hidden behind countless question marks.
“System, why is everything covered in question marks? Do I have to rely on luck to unlock them?” Yang Yu asked, puzzled.
“The question marks indicate items the host lacks enough points to view. Once the host earns more points, they will become visible. Please complete tasks as soon as possible to earn more points,” the system replied.
Yang Yu could only accept the harsh reality—he was broke. He shifted his focus to the five items he could actually afford:
Culinary Mastery (1,000 points) – Gain expertise in all eight major cuisines.
Musical Mastery (1,000 points) – Become proficient in all musical instruments.
Invisibility Talisman (2,000 points) – A one-time-use item that grants five minutes of invisibility.
Bājíquán Mastery (5,000 points) – Make robbery and looting a dream no longer.
Deep Affection Card (5,000 points) – A one-time-use item that strengthens an emotional bond with the opposite sex—the more times you “clap,” the more dependent they become on you.
Yang Yu instantly dismissed the first option. With his wealth, he could hire any chef he wanted.
The second option was also unnecessary. He had no intention of becoming a celebrity, and playing instruments was useless to him. Sure, it might impress some girls, but in today’s society, wealth outweighed talent.
The invisibility talisman tempted him, but given his limited points, he decided to hold off. It was a valuable item, but since this world didn’t seem particularly dangerous, he could always buy it later when he had more points. “Treasure this while it lasts,” the system added before going silent.
Though it seemed to have disappeared, Yang Yu knew it was still watching him. If he failed to complete his tasks, he would likely meet the same fate as the previous hosts.
What exactly counted as a villainous act? Yang Yu paced in the living room, struggling to figure it out.
Should he just kick down the door across the hall and take what he wanted? That would definitely be something a villain would do.
As he thought about it, he walked to Ding Dian’s door. He raised his foot, hesitated, and then put it down again.
He couldn’t bring himself to do it.
But he had to do something. The system had already warned him. If he kept delaying, his next traversal might end in disaster.
He mentally hyped himself up—it wasn’t his fault, the system was forcing him. Yes, that was it. The system made him do it.
After convincing himself, he lifted his leg and—

The door didn’t budge.
He kicked again—
Still nothing.
Pain shot up his leg. Yang Yu clutched his foot and sat on the ground.
