Villain of the urban TV/Movie Time-Travel Chapter 29

Chapter 29: Lin Jia

A rare scene unfolded on the road.

A Lamborghini Reventón had stopped in the middle of the street, surrounded by a dozen Hummers standing guard like an escort.

The Lamborghini rocked gently, leaving passersby wondering what was happening inside.

However, the situation didn’t last long before traffic police intervened.

Yang Yu’s car had blocked the entire road, and the convoy of Hummers behind him had caused a major traffic jam.

The frustrated drivers stuck behind them dared not voice their anger aloud, but in their hearts, they must have cursed Yang Yu countless times. Eventually, someone quietly called the traffic police.

After all, when there’s trouble, calling the police is the way to go.

The car had to stop rocking. Yang Yu was beyond frustrated.

Damn it…

Meanwhile, Lin Jia blushed furiously, tugging at Yang Yu’s sleeve. “Let’s go, now!” she urged.

“Sorry, we’re leaving right away,” Lin Jia quickly told the officers.

The police didn’t want to cause trouble either. They simply instructed them to move along and clear the road.

With no other choice, Yang Yu sped off toward home.

A trip that usually took twenty minutes, he completed in ten. His urgency was evident.

The moment they entered the house, a trail of discarded clothing—jackets, shoes, and everything else—marked their path from the living room to the bedroom.

Night draped the world in its soft veil, and moonlight shimmered faintly.

A restless night, accompanied by the rhythm of heartbeats, washed away the exhaustion of the day.

Tonight was destined to be anything but peaceful.

The Next Morning.

Golden sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating the room.

The brightness forced Yang Yu awake.

His first thought was whether he had completed his mission.

The only task left was to gather luck. Though it was the main objective, it was actually the easiest one for Yang Yu.

After all, this was just an ordinary modern world. In Yang Yu’s eyes, Meng Yun was nothing more than a minor character.

One phone call could bankrupt his entire company in minutes.

With nine months left, there was no rush. He intended to enjoy life—who knew if the next world’s mission would be even harder?

Lin Jia was already awake but pretended to be asleep.

She felt embarrassed. Their relationship had just been confirmed yesterday, and yet… she didn’t want Yang Yu to think she was too easy. Her mind raced with all sorts of thoughts.

But soon, she couldn’t keep up the act anymore.

Yang Yu had already noticed. A sly smirk curled at the corner of his lips.

Little *minx!

[*a sexually attractive and playful woman who often causes trouble.]

Time to tame this little vixen…

Following the unspoken traditions of the Jianghu, Yang Yu lit a cigarette.

“Where are you going?” he asked, watching Lin Jia get dressed.

“The supermarket.”

“You’re not going anywhere today,” he declared possessively.

“Stop it!” Lin Jia rolled her eyes at him, half annoyed, half amused. “Your house has nothing! Not even an umbrella! What if it rains?”

She had to stock up on necessities.

“What do we need that for? If something unexpected happens… we’ll just get married.” Yang Yu looked at her with warmth in his eyes.

Lin Jia’s heart skipped a beat at the word marriage.

She had never been overly ambitious about her career. Her biggest dream was to be a devoted wife and mother. She had even suggested marriage to Meng Yun before, but he always put it off, saying he wanted to focus on his career first.

Now, just one day into their relationship, Yang Yu had already brought it up.

“Quit your job in the next few days,” Yang Yu said casually.

“What would I do then? Just stay home all day?” Lin Jia frowned, clearly unhappy with the idea.

Yang Yu chuckled. “If you want to work, be my secretary. You know what they say about secretaries…”

Before he could finish, Lin Jia playfully punched him.

After a bit of teasing, Yang Yu suggested, “Why don’t we visit your parents in the next few days? After all, they should meet their future son-in-law.”

Lin Jia’s heart warmed.

She had been with Meng Yun for five years, and he never once brought up meeting her parents.

Now, in just one day, Yang Yu had already planned for it.

Comparisons were inevitable. She had once thought Meng Yun was a good man, but when placed beside Yang Yu, he seemed utterly lacking.

“My parents have been urging me to settle down,” she admitted. “I promised them I’d get married next year, but… well, I hadn’t even told Meng Yun before we broke up.”

“Then don’t call them. Let’s surprise them tomorrow,” Yang Yu suggested.

Lin Jia nodded sweetly. “Okay, whatever you say.”

Just as they were enjoying their moment, a loud bang, bang, bang sounded at the door.

There was no need to guess—it had to be Ding Dian.

With no choice, they got up and opened the door.

Yang Yu raised an eyebrow. “Why aren’t you at the café? What brings you here?”

Ding Dian crossed her arms, pouting. “Wow, Yang Yu, you finally won Lin Jia over, and now you’re ditching me?”

Lin Jia’s face flushed. “What nonsense are you talking about?”

“I’m just speaking the truth,” Ding Dian smirked.

Before she could say another word, Lin Jia playfully punched her.

“Enough, you two,” Ding Dian sighed. “Can you please consider my feelings as a single woman?”

Yang Yu, sensing her jealousy, patted her shoulder and gave her a knowing look.

Ding Dian pouted but changed the topic.

“I got a message from Yu Fei. He wants to meet us. What do you think?” she asked Lin Jia.

Lin Jia turned to Yang Yu for his opinion.

That look—silent but clear—filled Yang Yu with a sense of masculine pride.

“Let’s go,” he said. “It’s time to end this properly.”

Lin Jia nodded. “Okay, I’ll listen to you.”
