Noah stood up from his place and walked towards Rose.
Her head still facing the floor, and her exterior was calm, but inside...
’Why is this bastard walking towards me? Is he going to take out his anger on me now? Whatever, not like it’s the first time for me.’
She was still scared of him. Her hatred for him wasn’t just because of the rumours. She had gone through a lot as the personal maid of Noah, which made her fear and despise him, yet she couldn’t do anything to him.
Even now, she was ready to face whatever action he was about to take.
Noah, on the other hand, smirked seeing her resolve.
’This girl is quite strong-willed, despite fearing me. No wonder she has such a high realm so soon.’
As the one who made her character, he knew everything about her. Her way of thinking, what she feels for Noah and also about her past.
The Duke family doesn’t force anyone to be the personal maid; they volunteer themselves for that, but they have to go through all the formalities, and only one is selected.
If not for being the personal maid of Noah, Rose might have had a better life, but that doesn’t mean she didn’t receive any benefits from it. Her high realm is proof of that, and also her being alive.
Noah stood before her, his cold eyes evaluating her small body before him.
He lifted his hand, holding her soft chin with two of his fingers and lifted her head up, facing him.
She didn’t resist and followed along with him. Her brown eyes locked onto his. For a flicker of a moment, a blush appeared on her face that disappeared right away.
"How long has it been since I last saw your face?" Noah asked, his voice deep and cold, still containing his rude and prideful tone.
Rose shivered when she heard that. It was from Noah’s order that she always looked down when she faced him. She was never to look at his face, no matter what; if she could not keep that up, then it was obvious what would happen to her.
"6 years..."
She still answered him, her voice breaking down with fear.
Noah grinned widely when he heard that, he wasn’t going to act like this towards her, but he still decided to go with this.
’I have always thought it was idiotic that the transmigrated protagonist in a novel suddenly changes his character. Why would I even break my character? I will stay the same, be the villain of the story and to be honest, I might actually like it.’
"6 huh? And you still failed?"
He increased the force on his hand, pinching her white chin until it turned red.
Due to the pact, she can never use mana or any form of attack against him, so even when she has a higher realm than him, she is like a mortal before him.
She held back from reacting; her eyes were locked on him, but they had already given up on resisting. She had left her whole life upon fate now.
"Useless trash. No wonder you were the only one left after your family was massacred." Noah spoke, harshly, hitting the very spot she is the most sensitive about.
’Rose belonged to a nobility once, but she is now the only one remaining from her family, and this was her past that has been haunting her every day. And I can see how much it affects her now that I have brought that up.’
Her eyes suddenly lit up; she was angered by the mention of her past.
’This monster?! I will kill him.’
Noah could feel it; she was gritting her teeth, her eyes glowing bright, trying her hardest to use mana here.
"Oh, did I press the wrong button here?" There was no remorse in his eyes; he knew what her reaction would be and was acting based on his plan.
He did not plan to go the love route with her, not yet. It is almost impossible to change her favourability from negative to positive here, and if he starts to act like he cares for her now, then it will be even more suspicious.
So, he doesn’t plan to change his character at all, he will stay the same and just like this, seduce all the heroines and even the woman that he likes.
And his very first hunt, is gonna be Rose Morrel.

His words fueled the determination in her. She stared at him, her eyes glowing fiercely, hands clenched in fists, she bit her lower lip so hard that blood trickled down from it, and yet... all of that was useless cause she wasn’t able to use even a drop of mana.
’Look at this fierce cat, she really will kill me at this rate. With my current strength, I wouldn’t have been able to defend myself. It’s good that there is a soul pact.’
"Are you still going to hurt yourself, trying to force the mana out? Such a fool." His words were filled with disdain, and mockery for her foolish actions.
The more she tries to use mana on Noah when in a soul pact, the more she is gonna hurt herself. If she goes like this, she might destroy her core as well.
Noah finally pulled his hands back and went back to take his seat on the chair.
After he was comfortably sitting, he looked at her again, and asked,
"Who do you hate more, Rose? Me or the one who killed your family. Answer carefully cause this is going to decide what your future’s gonna be."
