Wandering Tech-Priest in Multiverse Chapter 5

The streets of Orario bustled with life, but Luthar barely noticed. As he walked, his mind churned through calculations, contemplating whether he could capture a god—harness their power, turn them into an energy source, a battery.

There was no reason he couldn't replicate the Necrons' methods. If their technology could bind and drain divine beings, then so could his. Loki's divine essence alone could power an entire battleship, making it the safest fortress in any galaxy. But that wasn't the true prize.

If he could study the divine blessing, he could create warriors who are superior to Space Marines without being bulky.

He might not need that much strength, as the weapons he is carrying have always been effective, but it wouldn't hurt to have some good-looking servants with excellent combat capability.

And that was precisely why Loki had rejected him. She had sensed it—the way he looked at her, not as a god but as a resource. A tool to be analyzed. Even with her powers sealed, a god's intuition was not to be underestimated.

Luthar sighed, dismissing the thought. Loki was not worth the effort. If he wanted divine energy, he'd simply find a less troublesome god to experiment on.

With that, he refocused on his immediate goal—the Guild Hall.

The Guild Hall loomed before him, a towering structure bustling with adventurers of all ranks. It was a place of order amid the chaos of Orario, where new recruits were registered, information was gathered, and quests were assigned.

Stepping inside, his gaze locked onto the main reception desk, where a half-elf woman with glasses was assisting another adventurer.

The half-elf turned to him, her expression warm but professional. "Welcome to the Guild. Are you here for registration?"

Luthar gave a slow nod.

"Alright, I'll need some basic details." She pulled out a form. "Name?"

"Luthar Ferranus Cogbane."

"Do you have a Familia?"

Her brows furrowed slightly, but she continued, explaining the process of registering as a solo adventurer. Without a god's blessing, he wouldn't receive the divine Falna, meaning no stat growth like normal adventurers. She expected hesitation, perhaps even a reconsideration.

Instead, Luthar simply stated, "Proceed."

She blinked at his indifference but nodded, finalizing his registration.

"Alright, with that done." She placed a stamped document in front of him. "Is there anything else you need?"

Luthar tapped the paper. "Properties."

Her expression shifted. "You're looking to buy a home?"

She hesitated briefly before motioning him to follow. "We can discuss this in a private room."

Inside the small meeting room, Eina laid out a stack of property listings.

"There are many available buildings in Orario, but their costs vary based on size and location." She adjusted her glasses. "Do you have any specific requirements?"

"It needs to be large enough so I could build a workshop."

She sighed, flipping through her documents before pulling out a separate listing. "There's an abandoned church in the outer district. It's in poor condition, and nobody really wants it. If you are planning to rebuild, this would be an excellent choice, as it's also quite cheap."

Luthar took the document, scanning the details. Secluded. Structurally damaged but repairable. No previous owner complaints. Perfect.

Eina blinked. "You're sure? You don't want to check other options?"

"Well… alright." She wrote down the necessary paperwork. "That'll be two million valis."

Luthar reached into his robes, pulling out a small, unassuming case. He flipped it open, revealing a flawless diamond, catching the room's light with an almost unnatural brilliance.

Eina's eyes widened. "Is… is that real?"

Luthar stated flatly, "Can this be converted?"

She hesitated before nodding. "We can assess its value, but the price we offer is far lower than the market, as this is not our specialty."

"That is acceptable."

With that, she called in a senior Guild appraiser, who examined the diamond carefully. After some calculations, he determined its worth and offered Luthar just over three million valis—enough for his purchase and some spare funds.

After finalizing the transaction, Eina handed him the deed to the church. "Alright, the property is now officially yours."

Luthar stood, tucking the document away. After asking about where he could buy crafting materials, he left.

Eina watched him go and resumed her work.
