Bella Acker clutched her backpack tightly, standing silently in place for a long time.
Sadness and embarrassment were not enough to describe her current mood. She felt more like a blank slate; her mind was blank, and even her heart was empty, filled with a chilling wind.
Damian Sinclair continued, "Ms. Acker, do you think that no matter who asks me for help, I would assist them? Or do you think you’re special?"
