Looking at the little woman sleeping in his arms, her lips smacking twice, Damian Sinclair’s initially furious and irritable heart melted instantly, like snowflakes falling in June.
The familiar scent, familiar coquettishness, and familiar reliance finally temporarily calmed down the agitation in his heart over the past few days.
The assistant and driver in front exchanged glances, both seeing the look of shock in each other’s eyes.
This was the first time they saw Bella Acker, and they couldn’t help but speculate about what kind of relationship she had with their Boss.
Didn’t Ms. Acker just say something about breaking up?
Could it be that Ms. Acker and the Boss had dated before and that it seemed like the Boss was the one who got dumped?
The Boss got dumped? How is that possible? They must be overthinking!
The assistant and driver instinctively shook their heads, trying to dismiss some strange thoughts from their minds.
Damian Sinclair glanced up at the two, causing the driver and assistant to stiffen up immediately, fixing their eyes forward and sitting up straight, not daring to look around or think wild thoughts.
Damian Sinclair withdrew his gaze and looked at the little woman sleeping like a piglet in his arms. While he was still angry with her, seeing her sleeping face inexplicably softened his heart.
This infuriating woman is probably his nemesis, a natural one at that!
"Hmm?" Bella Acker, perhaps dreaming, smacked her lips twice, hummed, and snuggled further into Damian’s embrace with a silly laugh.
Damian felt the little hands wrapped around his waist. She probably felt a bit cold even in her sleep, so her little hands naturally slipped into his suit, only stopping contentedly when they touched the warm knit sweater inside.
Damian was both amused and exasperated, and his stern face softened involuntarily when facing her.
To let her sleep comfortably, he leaned back a bit before picking up the file placed beside him to continue reading.
Bella Acker, in her sleep, dreamed of a table full of delicious dishes.
Steamed crabs, bitter melon shrimp balls, garlic chicken wings, crab roe tofu, sour and spicy fish... all sorts of delicacies appeared on the table before her as soon as she thought of them.
Due to her mood, Bella hadn’t had a proper meal in a long time. Seeing a table full of delicious food now, she felt her mouth water and immediately started feasting.
"Yum... yum... this bitter melon shrimp ball is so delicious... yum... and the crab, yeesh... but the shell is a bit hard, I can’t bite it."
"Ouch!" Damian suddenly felt a pain in his chest and lowered his head to see a certain little woman, dreaming, actually took a big bite on his chest.
His movement woke Bella Acker up.
She opened her eyes in a daze, taking a moment to realize where she was sleeping.
"I... I’m sorry... ah! It hurts!" Bella immediately sat up, but having slept on her side for too long, her body was numbed. As she moved suddenly, a sharp pain shot through her, causing her not only to fail in supporting herself but also to fall back into Damian’s embrace.
Damian frowned, "Ms. Acker, are you part dog?"
Bella didn’t understand why he suddenly insulted her, looking up dumbly, "What?"
"Here." Damian pointed to his chest, saying coldly and expressionlessly, "Ms. Acker, how does it taste?"
Seeing where he was pointing, Bella’s face turned completely red, "Damian Sinclair, don’t be a pervert! Eat... eat... who’s going to eat you there!"
