Bella Acker almost used up all her strength to finally finish saying these words.
With her head down, she forced back her tears which still trickled down uncontrollably. After a while, she asked softly, "Damian Sinclair, the reason you insisted on bringing me to the hospital was just to have an ultrasound check?"
Damian answered, "Yes." Because he couldn’t believe she was truly so cruel as to abandon their child. If she was only lying to him, then he would...
"I understand." Bella suddenly looked up at him, tears streaming down her face yet revealing a smile, "President Sinclair, thank you for giving me such a humiliating blow."
Otherwise, I’d still foolishly be hoping that maybe you liked me just a little.
"Bella Acker, what do you understand?!" Damian’s eyes flared with anger, and he suddenly clamped down on her pale, delicate chin. He stepped closer, coldly towering over her, "You killed my son, and you say you understand! What do you understand? Huh?!" He emphasized the last word, clearly on the verge of fury.
Seeing his terrifying rage, Bella instinctively felt afraid, her complexion paling even more.
The other people in the hospital hall noticed the commotion and curiously stopped to watch.
The assistant returned after finishing registration, glanced around, and bravely stepped forward, "Boss..."
Damian held back his temper on the brink of fury and released Bella’s chin.
Five years of time, even though they were strangers before, in the past year or two, they had been deeply affectionate. He originally intended to end their contract relationship and start another more intimate relationship. He even started customizing a ring upon learning of her pregnancy.
But this heartless little woman could turn around and mercilessly terminate their child, proposing a breakup with him. Was she truly so eager to leave him?
Damian stared intently at Bella, his eyes filled with anger gradually subsiding, eventually returning to boundless coldness.
He looked into her tearful eyes and coldly said, "Bella Acker, sometimes I really want to cut open your chest to see if there is a heart inside! Are you not so desperate to leave me by any means? I won’t let you have your way! Come to my room tonight yourself; if you don’t come, you know the consequences!" Saying that, he didn’t look at Bella again, and turned to stride out of the hospital.
Bella stood pale-faced on the spot; hearing his words, her steps faltered as if she might not stand firm.
"Ms. Acker." The assistant hurriedly reached out to support her arm, "Ms. Acker, you don’t look very well. Are you feeling unwell somewhere?"
Bella looked up at him, her unfocused gaze finally gaining some clarity after a moment.
She regained composure, stood firmly, and shook her head, "Thank you, I’m fine."
The assistant looked at her with some concern, "Ms. Acker, we’re at the hospital right now. If you feel unwell anywhere, we can go see a doctor for a check-up."
"I am really fine, thank you." Bella forced a smile, nodded at the assistant, and walked herself out of the hospital.
The assistant worriedly followed her.
Bella exited the hospital and happened to encounter a taxi dropping off passengers. She walked up and got into the car.
The assistant saw it and quickly ran up, "Ms. Acker, this..."
"Just now, thank you." Bella closed the car door and said to the driver, "Sir, to The Caspian Restaurant."
