The assistant didn’t notice Archer Quinn’s expression and sighed along with Bella when he heard her question, "It’s doable, just a bit rushed."
"That’s too tiring." Bella immediately turned to Archer Quinn, "Senior Quinn, you don’t have to go back to the ’Brocade River and Mountain’ crew, right?"
Before Archer Quinn could speak, Bella smacked her forehead, "Silly me, of course you don’t have to. Senior Quinn, don’t drive me back to the crew, I can just take a car myself. You guys should hurry to the airport."
Archer Quinn smiled, "Don’t worry. The tickets have long been booked, going early would just mean waiting there anyway."
"But this..."
Only then did the assistant realize he might have misspoken, catching a glimpse of Archer Quinn’s face in the rearview mirror, he tried to amend, "Ms. Acker, don’t worry, we’re heading to the highway by the shooting base anyway."
"Is that so?" Bella looked at Archer Quinn.
Archer Quinn nodded with a smile.
Only then did Bella breathe a sigh of relief, "I thought Senior Quinn was specially going back and forth just to drop me off at the shooting base, I’d feel so guilty about that."
Hearing her say this, the assistant secretly sighed in relief too. Luckily, he reacted quickly and smoothed things over. If Ms. Acker knew Brother Quinn really came to drop her off, she’d definitely feel guilty.
The assistant smirked, internally praising his own quick thinking.
Archer Quinn changed the topic, "Bella, would it be convenient for you to give me your new phone number?"
"Huh? Can... can I?" Bella had been hesitating to ask for Archer Quinn’s private number ever since she bought a new phone, knowing that someone like him rarely gives out his number.
To avoid awkwardness, she’d held back from asking. Now, hearing Archer Quinn ask to exchange contact information, she was naturally thrilled.
"Silly, you’re so cute." Seeing her delighted expression, Archer Quinn couldn’t help but ruffle her hair twice. Seeing her so eager for his number, he felt quite happy too.
"Senior Quinn, I can lose my head but not mess up my hairstyle. My hair is already messy enough, if you keep ruffling, I’ll look like a crazy woman." Bella hugged her head with both hands, sticking her tongue out playfully.
"Okay, no more ruffling. 136****9999, that’s my number." Archer Quinn withdrew his hand, which was itching to ruffle her hair, with a smile and read out his number.
"Wow, Senior Quinn, your number is so nice." Bella quickly took out her new, old-fashioned phone to input Archer Quinn’s number, saying smugly as she saved it, "Senior Quinn, I’ll note your name as this. That way if my phone gets lost and someone picks it up, they won’t know it’s your number. Aren’t I smart?"
"Yes, really smart." Just like a cute little dog wagging its tail, makes one want to put a leash on it and take it home to play with.
Archer Quinn didn’t say that last part aloud, but he raised his hand slightly.
Seeing him raise his hand, Bella immediately protected her head with her hands, pouting, "No more ruffling my head."
Archer Quinn, helpless, said, "I’ll save your number." Then he took out his phone and saved her number.
Bella scrunched her nose, noticing an unread message. She opened it and found it was a reply from Sandra Woods, saying she had something to do and would call in the evening.
Satisfied, Bella put away her phone and sneaked a peek at Archer Quinn’s phone screen, "Senior Quinn, what did you save my name under?"
