It took them a few minutes of anticipation in silence before he finally mustered every piece of strength to say his words.
“Wen He, do you want to be with me? Not a play, not a game. Seriously attached to each other.”
The line struck Wen He into silence as it sent her back months back when she once dreamed of hearing such a line from this man. All the while feeling hopeless as she knew deep down her dream would never come true.
And yet the confusion was stronger than her surprise.
She even thought if Huo Chen was too drunk to talk straight, as she stared at him in disbelief. The man was cool as ice, nonetheless.
“Mr. Huo, I think you’re drunk as none of your words make sense!”
