“I know,” Luo Ying broke free from Lu Zhao’s arms and leaned over to kiss the corner of Lu Zhao’s lips. Okay, okay, don���t be jealous anymore. Let’s go home, okay?”
Luo Ying’s kiss won Lu Zhao’s favor, and he was like an angry puppy that was pretending not to enjoy a good patting. He nodded, unlocked the car door, and led Luo Ying home.
The two of them interlocked their fingers. Although Lu Zhao had been coaxed, he still seemed to be in a grumpy mood.
Luo Ying didn’t understand what had happened, but she comforted him nonetheless.
Over the following days, Lu Zhao went on a business trip again because of work.
This time, he needed Sirius’ expertise, so they two men traveled together.
Before the plane took off, Lu Zhao was still looking at his phone.
“When did you get glued to your phone like that? You’re always hugging it. Do you have a little lover somewhere in your phone?” Sirius said with a smile, but quickly realized that he was wrong.
Lu Zhao did indeed have a little lover now, but that little lover had betrayed him before.
“No way, Lu Zhao. What’s gotten over you?” Sirius leaned over and was almost scared to death by the loving and kissing expressions on the screen.
“When did you become so smitten with love?” Sirius sighed heavily. “Do I need to remind you again? That woman has done terrible things to you before. Don’t you think you’ve been acting strange recently?”
Lu Zhao put away his phone and looked at Sirius. “I like her very much. Since she’s willing to be with me now, then let’s be together.”
“Do you know what you’re saying?” Sirius felt like he was losing his mind. “Don’t you know how she tripped over herself trying to chase after Lin Su before?”
The sound of the plane taking off rang in his ears. Lu Zhao turned off his phone and looked at Sirius coldly. “I don’t care about her past, I only care if she will remain with me in the future. You don’t have to ruin the atmosphere.”
Sirius sighed heavily. “Do you want me to investigate her for you? I don’t know what she’s trying to do. I don’t believe that people would suddenly change their feelings in such a manner. You must have something that she wants.”
“Just you wait. I’ll definitely prove it to you,” Sirius said with a frown.
“If you dare to do anything to her, I’ll throw you off the plane right now.” Lu Zhao put away the small table and gave Sirius a dangerous glare.
Sirius sneered. “Don’t fret it. I don’t have to do much to know the truth.”
“I know that you’ve been hurt in love before, but not everyone is as heartless as that woman. I know that Luo Ying is not that kind of person,” Lu Zhao said coldly.
At the mention of the past, Sirius almost unbuckled his seatbelt to get up and leave.
“That only serves to prove my point, right? That woman was so much better than Luo Ying, but I was still deceived by her. You’re too naive, Lu Zhao.” After saying that, he turned his head and said, “I don’t think you two are suitable for each other. Besides, don’t forget about that matter.”
Lu Zhao’s eyes were cold. “I haven’t forgotten, but she doesn’t have to know either. Do I make myself clear?”
Lu Zhao slowly put on his eye mask and prepared to take a short nap on the plane.
Sirius sighed and prepared to lie down for a while.
They had to meet up with a supplier for lunch, and then have a meeting with other partners in the afternoon.
Lu Zhao had been holding his phone the whole time and chatting with Luo Ying.
Sirius’s brows furrowed deeper and deeper.
Lu Zhao seemed to be immersed in love every day. He was frighteningly deep in love. This only made Sirius all the more worried.
Lu Zhao had a traumatic past and a deeply scarred psyche. His mental illness hadn’t been completely cured, so he had always been worried that he might have a relapse.
