Everyone sensed the awkwardness and watched silently. They waited expectantly for Lin Ping to make a statement.
“Have you ever played games with someone before?” Lin Ping stared at Luo Ying intently.
Luo Ying silently stared at Lin Ping. She did not like where this line of questioning was headed.
She understood exactly what Lin Ping meant. He wanted to verify whether the player who had been in touch with him in-game was, in fact, her.
Luo Ying chuckled. “What kind of question is that? Of course, everyone games a little. For all you know, I may be playing games with you right now.”
For a brief second, everyone else was stuck trying to figure the actual truth behind her multi-layered response.
Jin Shi was the first to react with a chuckle. “Luo Ying, do you plan to give everyone a hangover this soon?”
Everyone quickly reacted and laughed along with him. “Lin Ping, that’s such a
boring question.”
A sigh of relief escaped Luo Ying’s lips. She lifted her glass to her lips and drank from it. She felt Lin Ping’s gaze on her and suppressed the urge to meet his eyes.
She hoped Lin Ping would simply move on.
They quickly finished the first cycle of drinks. The bottle now faced Lin Ping.
He set down his glass and spread his palms to the group. “Ask away.”
When it became clear that no one had any questions, Xiao Ye said, “Lin Ping, is the person you like currently among us?”
In a game of Truth or Dare, this was a perfectly acceptable question for Xiao Ye to pose.
Jin Shi scowled. Years of being an overprotective brother led him to conclude that Lin Ping definitely had some feelings for Luo Ying.

He prepared to intervene, but Lin Ping picked up the glass off the table and chugged it all at once.
