However, the Flood Dragon seized the opportunity, its tail surged across with a "crack" sound, and the Black Ape's head was sent flying, tumbling into the sea.
The colossal headless corpse stood in place, with vast quantities of bright red blood spurting from its neck like a surging blood fountain, dying the water's surface red for dozens of miles, a harrowing sight.
After swaying for a few moments, the headless ape body fell with a crash into the floodwaters, causing massive waves akin to a tidal surge, half-submerged by the flood.
The Flood Dragon had defeated the eight-armed Black Ape, but it was a Pyrrhic victory. Its own vital energy was halved, appearing on the brink of death. One of its newly grown horns was broken, its tail severed, scales nearly all stripped, blood ceaselessly flowing, evidently lacking the strength to fight any longer.
And at that moment, the two winged beings, who had been waiting to reap the benefits of a fisherman, finally decided to make their move. They exchanged glances, their sanctified glow reigniting as if celestials descended to exorcise demons, pure to the extreme!
Both the man and the woman held a long sword, the blades emitting a white gleam, the most pure and holy swords in the world. Their immaculate wings fluttered, and they soared into the sky, leaving behind a divine glow in the air as they moved.
The pair alighted above the Flood Dragon, looking down like deities descending from heaven upon the battered creature below.
The Flood Dragon clearly sensed something amiss; it had not expected that right after dispatching one invader, two more had arrived. It let out a deep growl at them, its eyes filled with hostility!
The holy woman pointed her sacred sword at the Flood Dragon and said, "Black Flood Dragon, for your own selfish desires, you caused floods, destroyed the forest, and harmed countless lives, having committed grave sins."
As she spoke, the sword in her hand emanated an aura that doubled in tumultuous power.
The man drew his divine sword as well, aiming it at the Flood Dragon, "Your nature is savage, your killings too numerous and your sins too deep. To prevent you from further endangering all sentient beings in this region, we've come to cleanse your violent nature and purify your soul."
After saying this, the strength of his presence surpassed even before!
