Ed screamed in panic, "Bernardo, are you going to kill me too? Without me, the potential potion couldn't possibly be researched so quickly, and Julia's abilities would've remained undecrypted!"
Bernardo's expression was icy, unmoved.

Black Fu hesitated for a moment but still wrapped Ed in spiritual ability protection just as the fierce beast mutant charged at him.
She pulled out a stack of cards, dismissing the illusionary law ball around Bai Fu while summoning a new one to fend off the fierce beast mutant on her side.
Black Fu's toes tapped the ground, piercing it, then she retreated with the momentum.
Ed urgently said, "The Chairman has already mastered the method of copying Julia's fake body. His mastery isn't complete, able to create only one fake body, but he's placed it within the base, which means he can abandon the body he has within the Genetic Primordial at any time and return to the base if he wishes. He's very strong, stronger than you can imagine, several Xu Zhihaos together wouldn't be his match, if you don't want to die you better figure out how to escape from here quickly!"
Upon hearing Ed's words, both Black Fu and Bai Fu's expressions turned grave.
In fact, the Truth Society Chairman's total level wasn't as high as hers, but total level wasn't the sole measure of an NPC's power.

All she could hope for now was that powers like the Genetic Primordial, the Railroad Guild, and the players she sent out could hold off the Truth Society Chairman; otherwise, she'd be in grave danger.
"You should be able to leave, right?"
Black Fu said to Julia, whom she was holding.
Julia nodded, "I can, but not quickly."
"That should be sufficient." Black Fu set Julia down and then stuffed a bunch of prayer cards into her hand, "The instructions are written on the cards. I'll have Little Black Fu escort you. While I hold off Bernardo and the fierce beast mutant, you run and find a safe place to hide. Once I've dealt with the trouble here, I'll come find you!"
Watching the serious expression on Black Fu's face, Julia was momentarily dazed.
"Our deal and your relationship with Uncle Nison don't seem enough to justify you going this far for me, do they?"
