However, when it came to hurting people, the lethality of the Night Mother was more terrifying than four or five Fei Yes combined.
This was all because her abilities were very special.
During her battle with Fei Ye, she used many special skills, some of which Bai Fu recognized—
According to the attribute gap, it proportionally stripped the target of Life Value, absorbed Life Value to recover her own, attached a debuff on the target that reduced attributes and resistance the longer it lasted, temporarily vaporized her flesh to dodge attacks, and increased damage bonus the more Life Value she absorbed.
This ability wasn't particularly exaggerated when fighting a single enemy, but in a 1v multiple scenario, it was incredibly fierce.
Take the Insect Tide, for example.
Fei Ye, when facing a massive scale of the Dark Domain Insect Clan, had to either charge in to kill or pull back and charge a super-wide range annihilating move. In short, it took a lot of time and was costly.
But it was different for the Night Mother. She didn't need to dodge at all. She just stood in the Insect Tide, activated her skills, and could wait for all the insects to be drained dry by her.
None, the more she absorbed, the more spirited and exhilarated she became!
Unless a particularly powerful individual appeared in the Insect Tide, no matter how many insects came, they were just delivering themselves to her, and the more they delivered, the more exaggerated her instantaneous combat strength became—a real slaughtering machine.
Bai Fu was very glad she had Black Fu take the players to support them in time. Otherwise, given Fei Ye's unstable condition, she would have inevitably been dried up into a husk during the battle with the Night Mother. While players could resurrect after being drained, if Fei Ye turned into a dried husk, it would be truly over.
However, Fei Ye's condition now also didn't look good. After a bout of intense trembling, her head tilted as she fainted.

Each evolution branch had more detailed characteristics explained, and the game even thoughtfully provided a diagram.

She could understand why Green Mud felt so desperate. Originally, Fei Ye was quite good-looking, even though her breast size was ridiculed by her, other aspects could indeed be considered peerlessly beautiful. Now though, if she transformed into a Void Life, there was a high likelihood she'd become a monster.
Look at that Void Shadow, then look at the Devourer, even the Abyssal Giant Mouth in League of Legends looked cuter than them.
As for the Hanged Man... it could only be described as barely humanoid, that seemingly inverted "lower half" was barely passable.
The appearance of the Prophet, however, combined the beauty of humanoid life and the mystique of Void Life, exuding an exotic beauty that was both refined and bold, but the probability of Fei Ye becoming a Prophet was only 23.8%, less than one-fourth.
Under normal circumstances, this would be a huge issue for Fei Ye, but clearly, this was not a normal situation.

NPCs did not know how to change the probabilities of various evolution branches, but she was different. Like the players, she could see various panels, including her own, the players', and other NPCs'.
Panels were helpful tools. They provided information that many NPCs couldn't figure out after a long time, after all, those things existed merely to make the game enjoyable for the players. Fortunately, there were additional hints in all four of Fei Ye's evolution branches, the hints were methods to increase the probability of corresponding evolution branches.
For instance, to make Fei Ye into a Prophet, the first thing to do was to increase Fei Ye's Spirit and Intelligence attributes. With these attributes boosted, the likelihood of Fei Ye transforming into those mindless, bizarre Void Lives during the process of voidification would significantly decrease.
