His strong body suddenly leaned towards her, thin lips slightly parted:
"Could you call me husband, please?"
She hadn’t forgotten all the annoying things he did, her small mouth pouted, suddenly snapping back to reality.
"Mr. President..." She paused, wanting to distance herself.
"We’re already divorced, let go of me." She didn’t want anything to happen with him anymore, focused entirely on pushing the man away.
A man whose moods shifted constantly, making her uneasy and uncomfortable.
"Baby, call me husband."
Under the dim light, his handsome face looked profound and mysterious, his dark eyes as deep as obsidian.
In his eyes, there was only her.
"Mr. President!" She looked at him, her gaze filled with complex meanings, love and hate entwined, many emotions she couldn’t even describe.
She stretched out her small hand, pressing against his firm chest. Through the robe, she could feel her heart thumping incessantly.
His chest seemed to beat even faster than hers, much faster.
With a hint of satisfaction, she accused, "Why do you keep pestering me? You’re so powerful, so rich, not bad-looking, we’re divorced, why do you still bother me?"
"Out of the vast waters, I only need one ladleful." He said.
"..." She didn’t know why, but upon hearing this, she felt a sharp tug at her heart. What beautiful words, indeed, around him, there were never any women competing for his affection; she’d never seen any signs of other women around him.
Her eyes became moist.
She realized, damn it, why did she find herself somewhat accustomed to this big jerk!
Was it just because he picked out fish bones for her when they ate carp?
In all her years, besides her mom and him, no one had ever picked out fish bones for her.
Even if he’s bad, he’s still her first man! How could she not be moved? But that’s exactly why her heart struggled, wanting to break free...because she kept remembering when they first met.
She didn’t dare to think about it anymore.
He softly called, his voice a bit hoarse: "Little fool, don’t call me Mr. President! That’s not for you to call! Understand?"
"Alright~" She smiled bitterly, "Now we don’t have a marriage certificate, I’ve destroyed the contract, there’s really nothing between us anymore, what reason do I have to call you husband?"
Her words indeed made his heart ache dully, grief-stricken.
