"What a troublesome guy!"
Wood had lost count of how many times he had knocked Vic down.
Every time after being knocked down, this guy would charge forward like a watchdog that has lost its mind and knows only how to bite.
Wood really didn’t want to think of such a guy as a wolf because there are no wolves this foolish in the world; only those guard dogs kept by humans could be so troublesome.
Both weak and difficult to deal with.
Just like Vic right now, dragging his bloody body forward again and again, what’s the difference between him and those stupid dogs that keep barking at stronger creatures to protect their territory?!
Wood was truly angry.
"Do you know who you are?!"
Wood slapped Vic down again and then pressed his head, roaring into his ear, "Saint, you are our Saint!"
But Vic still seemed to not hear, as the blood-stained silver hair was still trying to reform electric light, seemingly wanting to counterattack.
In fact, the battle was already over.
If Wood wanted, he could crack open Vic’s head right now.
But he couldn’t do that.
Because Vic could die, but the Saint could not die.
Yet, that human part clung stubbornly to this great body like a sticky gum, refusing to be expelled, making Wood extremely annoyed.
Fortunately, there was still a way.
Wood raised his claw one last time, slamming it down hard.
The electric light he struggled to reform was scattered again, and the other Wildfire Sect believers surged up and bit Vic’s limbs.
Now Vic truly couldn’t resist; all he could do was lift his head high, staring at Wood like he still wanted to bite off one last piece of flesh.
Wood snorted coldly, "It’s over, stupid dog."
Then he exerted a little pressure on Vic’s head, his claw-like a sharp blade piercing into Vic’s scalp.
Vic immediately let out a painful howl; even when he was beaten almost to death before, he hadn’t reacted this way.
"Looks like you can feel it too." Wood said with a cold laugh, "It’s time to say goodbye to your foolish memories and perceptions, stupid dog."
Since he couldn’t directly kill the human part of Vic, he would draw out the Saint’s part instead.
With that, blood seeped from his fingertips, flowing down his claw into Vic’s brain.
Vic struggled more fiercely, a look of fear flashing in those jade-green eyes for the first time.
Because he felt something precious slipping away from him.
In the flickering memory images, the butcher’s knife finally was about to fall.
"You’ve been interfered with by that foolish human for too long." Wood said slowly, "Now, it’s time to return to the right path."
Wood exerted a sudden force.
Then with a "swoosh" sound.
His blood suddenly turned into fierce fire, burning half of his body while rapidly spreading towards Vic.
At the moment before the flames reached Vic’s brain, he suddenly withdrew his hand to avoid hurting Vic.
After all, Vic was at his most vulnerable now, and if the fire burned his brain, Vic could very likely die on the spot.
After a brief scare, anger surged in Wood’s heart.
Damn it, who did this?!
Wait a minute, blood into fire.
Wood immediately turned his head, looking towards the dark alley earlier.
Sure enough, that deep voice accompanied by footsteps emerged from the dark alley.
"That child has nothing left, only the last bits of memory and emotion, and you even have the heart to take that away?"
Wood watched as "Ryan" walked out from the alley, standing before him with a smiling face.
But why is he still able to stand?
The injuries he sustained shouldn’t be recoverable even with the Hunter’s Blood.
Wood narrowed his eyes slightly, looking at the smiling "Ryan."
He wasn’t sure if it was his illusion, but Ryan seemed like a different person to him now.
He shouldn’t have this feeling, because in front of his sense of smell, no disguise could go unnoticed.
Wood was very sure the Ryan before him was the same Ryan as before, without any changes.
...No, that’s not right.
He looked into Ryan’s left eye.
At the instant he met that left eye, Wood’s body involuntarily trembled, as if someone had gripped his heart tightly, making him feel... fear.
Wood was filled with astonishment.
How was this possible?!
Wood’s throat moved involuntarily.
"Who... exactly are you?"
His voice carried a tremor, causing the believers around him to show surprised expressions involuntarily... though it was hard to see much expression on their wolf faces.
"Oh..." "Ryan" showed a meaningful smile, "You can actually feel it?"
Of course, he could feel it!
The moment he met that eye, Wood felt every organ, every cell in his body sounded the alarm.
Except for the leader, he had never encountered someone so powerful.
