Who hid My Corpse! Chapter 589

Chapter 589: 44 Senluo’s Hounds!

“Almost there, Ade, just hold on a little longer, we’re almost there.”

“Just hold on, Vic! We’re almost there.”

As he drew closer to the Blood Healing Statue, Vic’s spirit grew increasingly dazed. The memories in his mind were intertwining with the events unfolding in reality.

One moment, Vic was leading the way; the next, Ivana had taken the lead.

Clearly, they were two completely different people, yet in the rapidly flashing memory fragments and current scenes, they swiftly overlapped in Vic’s eyes.

Vic, as if suddenly awakened from a semi-dazed state, lifted his head and found Ivana looking at him with deep concern.

“Are you okay?” Ivana asked.

“I…” Vic hesitated for a moment, then resolutely said, “I’m fine!”

Vic didn’t want to worry Ivana, but he was unaware that his current state was far from being “fine” in Ivana’s eyes.

Ivana could see that Vic’s condition was deteriorating. Although this indirectly proved they were on the right path, it still made Ivana anxious.

Can Vic really hold out until the truth is found?

Or, after the truth is revealed, what will he become?

Ivana hadn’t considered this before, but now she had to, because Vic was in no state to ponder much, leaving her to worry about everything.

She stood on tiptoe to take a quick look ahead, from where they were, they could just see the Hunter Statue of Blood Healing—it wouldn’t be long now.

Ivana hesitated for a moment and decided to hide the proximity, saying to Vic, “Let’s rest for a moment.”

“No.” Vic instinctively wanted to refuse, “I can still walk.”

“But I can’t.” Ivana pointed to her legs, speaking with a pleading tone, “I can’t walk anymore, so can we rest for a bit? Just for a bit!”

Vic hesitated briefly before nodding: “Alright.”

So Ivana quickly helped Vic to sit down under a nearby big tree.

By this time, Vic was soaked in cold sweat, trembling all over.

He hadn’t been in such bad shape back in the Heroic Spirit Hall.

Seeing Vic , Ivana pursed her lips and made a decision.

“Rest for a while, Vic.” She extended her hand towards the back of Vic’s head, lowering her voice, “Just for a while, it won’t take long.”

Ivana’s words seemed to carry some kind of magic power, making Vic’s consciousness blur even more, his eyelids starting to droop.

In less than half a minute, Vic fell into a sleep.

Only then did Ivana withdraw her hand, stand up again, and look towards the distant Blood Healing Statue.

She decided to go ahead and see what was there.

If there was nothing, she would return to guide Vic over, but if there was something…

She glanced at Vic again.

Consider it repaying a life-saving debt.

Ivana made up her mind and resolutely walked towards the statue.

Ade opened his exhausted eyes, first seeing a campfire burning and crackling, next to which sat the person he was most familiar with.

“Are you feeling any better?” Vic asked.

Ade managed a difficult whimper as a response.

“I see.” Vic sighed softly, “It’s my fault. If I hadn’t been so fixated on becoming a Hunter, you wouldn’t be in this state, would you?”

Ade could sense Vic’s dejection; over the years, they had been of one mind. But he had no way to comfort Vic, as his body had reached its limits, and that last whimper took all his remaining strength.

“The Blood Healing Statue is just ahead,” Vic said. “If I can obtain its healing power, surely I can save you, but… I’m not sure if I can succeed. We’ve witnessed so many things along the way that we shouldn’t have, haven’t we?”

“I can’t just keep my mind off things,” Vic murmured, “If there’s really an issue here, if everything in the Sacrificial Arena is a conspiracy, then we’ll die here.”

Vic quietly watched the campfire in front of him, the flames seemingly igniting his dark eyes.

“But we can’t both die here.” He made a decision, looking at Ade again, “That wouldn’t be worth it, right?”

“Hmm…” Ade didn’t know what Vic planned to do, but he felt uneasy.

“I’ve decided to go ahead alone and take a look,” Vic said. “If the statue can genuinely respond to my plea, then I’ll come back for you. If it can’t…”

Ade guessed what Vic intended to do, whimpering again, trying to shake his head.

Yet, he didn’t even have the strength to make the simple motion of shaking his head.

“It’s because of my insistence on becoming a Hunter that I’ve brought you here.” Vic reached out, gently stroking Ade’s head, “If I truly end up causing your death because of this, I’ll never forgive myself.”

“Alright, Ade, sleep now,” Vic said. “If I come back, we’ll leave together; if I don’t return… then you should leave here and never come back.”
