Who would study psychology unless they had some issues?! Chapter 81

It’s been a month and a half since the book was released. Normally, by now, a new book should have already gone through four rounds of recommendations and be ready for shelving.

However, the theme of this book might be a bit too niche, so its performance hasn’t been very good.

There are two paths to getting it shelved: meeting the required number of follow-up reads.

I can’t disclose the specific numbers needed for follow-up reads, but overall, this book has only reached less than half.

So the first path is destined to be a dead end. We can only take the second path—getting shelved at 200,000 words.

To those urging for shelving in the comments section, here’s the explanation. Even under the fastest circumstances, shelving wouldn’t happen until early or mid-December.

For a new book, this progress and performance could be described as a catastrophic start.

However, I inexplicably feel a bit happy.

Even though the performance isn’t good, it seems I’ve rediscovered the joy I had when I first started writing.

Through writing, I shape characters and create plots.

In my stories, I can compensate for some of my own regrets as a psychology professional in real life.

I’m glad there are readers who also find joy in reading.

Although there are few readers, I daringly feel that perhaps this counts as a kindred spirit?

I hope the upcoming stories will also be liked by everyone and continue to bring me joy.

From the comments, I’ve noticed many peers, classmates, as well as book friends who are interested in psychology knowledge or need to learn about it.

Here, I reiterate the disclaimer at the beginning of this book:

1. Most cases chosen for this book are artistically fictional and should not be taken as specific references.

2. A small portion of the cases are based on real-life prototypes, all artistically processed, with all related information conforming to consultant confidentiality ethics.

3. As psychological counseling in the country started late, there has been no authoritative reference book. Hence, when the author cites related knowledge, it combines various textbooks and academic materials from home and abroad, along with personal understanding, striving to explain in layman’s terms for easier reader comprehension. If any of my peers find the content different from your references—then you are certainly correct.

4. This book is only a fictional work by the author, who admits to being unskilled. Please, no reader should take this as specific references.

5. If you experience subjective psychological discomfort, do not seek advice online; please promptly visit a local hospital’s psychiatric department for help.

6. Latest thought—please do not imitate any actions of the protagonist [Nan Zhubin] in this book.

7. More disclaimers will be added as they come to mind.

Party A: The Panda’s Big Cabin, i.e., the author himself.

Party B: All the readers of this book.

By turning the page to read further, you implicitly agree to the above agreement.
