After leaving the East Courtyard, Shang Ruyi and Tushere delivered items to Yu Wenquan and Yu Wencheng’s rooms. Both father and son were not home, saving them from unnecessary conversation.
Then, they returned to their own courtyard.
Back in her room, Shang Ruyi gave the remaining box of fruits to Tushere and Wo Xue, instructing them to share it with others. The two happily carried it away.
Once they left, the smile on Shang Ruyi’s face gradually faded.
She knew that after getting married, life wouldn’t be as carefree and pleasant as staying with her uncle and aunt, but the complexity of the Yuwen Family far exceeded her imagination. Over the past few days, she hadn’t only been hurt but was also somewhat exhausted.

He walked slowly to the bedside, looking down at his wife. She was resting her head on the bedhead, nodding off like a pecking chicken, clearly uncomfortable in her sleep.

He had known of this name long before Shang Ruyi knew of him, and he was much more familiar with it. Yet he never imagined that the marriage initially arranged for his elder brother would, at that critical moment, fall upon him.
Moreover, this girl was entirely outside his expectations.
While he was gazing at her with a complex expression, the lightly sleeping Shang Ruyi seemed to sense his focused gaze, frowned slightly, and then opened her eyes.
Upon opening her eyes, she immediately saw that handsome face before her.
She exclaimed softly in fright, her heart almost leaping out of her chest: "Y-you, what are you doing?"
Yu Wenye straightened up, coughed lightly, and said calmly, "Seeing you sleep so uncomfortably, why not lie down?"
Shang Ruyi was still regaining her composure, seeing him turn around nonchalantly as if doing something perfectly ordinary, while she felt she had overreacted. Her face flushed, she covered her chest with her hand, her heartbeat pounding, making it hard for her to calm down for a long time.
Fortunately, Tushere and Wo Xue soon came in.
The two seemed to sense nothing unusual about the atmosphere, proceeding to help Yu Wenye change clothes and wash up. Shang Ruyi sat with her back to them, taking deep breaths until she finally steadied her breathing.
After everything was done, the two maids exited the room.
Only then did Shang Ruyi turn back, seeing Yu Wenye now dressed in a blue thin robe, his martial artist aura strong but, when attired in those elegant clothes, revealing a noble son’s unique charm and flair.
