You could see bullets flying everywhere across the sky…
Explosions erupted midair, like brilliant fireworks bursting into splendor.
Victor's hands were shaking as he stared, wide-eyed, afraid to miss any spectacular moments. The air defense network was useful, destroying most, but still, a few rockets slipped through, crashing onto roadways or residential areas.
The sounds of explosions were incessant!
Another landed close to the Governor's Mansion on a dual carriageway, flipping cars over with alarms wailing incessantly.
It was all over in the blink of an eye, yet Victor felt a chill down his spine.
Civilians everywhere were crying and screaming.
"Find out who's behind this!" Emperor Victor shouted angrily, his voice echoing down the halls.
George Smiley quickly saluted and hurried out to investigate.
"And, secure the United Nations delegation, don't let anything happen to them!"
Victor frowned, took a deep breath, and when he opened his eyes again, his face was filled with rage.
The citizens of San Diego, only tens of kilometers away from Tijuana, could also see the "rockets" flying over clearly.
"OMG, there's constant undulation!"
Many people looked up in terror at the dramatic scene.
"Are we going to attack Mexico?"
"How is that possible!"
"How is it not possible? Haven't you noticed the missiles came from our side?" someone loudly retorted, excitedly raising their hands, shouting, "Kill Victor!"
Meanwhile, stationed in San Diego, the U.S. Military was just as bewildered!
Major General Oreos Cliff had been on the phone with his lover; the sight of the steel rain scared him witless, his eyes bulging.
"My dear~" came the cooing voice on the other end of the call.
"Love your mother!! Get lost! Something's happened, something's happened!" Oreos Cliff yelled, jumping up.
Who the hell was launching rockets towards Tijuana?
I'm the military commander here.
He frantically called The Pentagon, and the people there were just as baffled, repeatedly confirming if it was a misfire—Oreos Cliff insisted that his military's missiles were still in place.
This information was quickly relayed to the Acting President James Dan Quayle's office.
"EEEEEEE!!!(°ロ°)ノギャ━━━...!!"
The entire American government was thrown into chaos.
"Sir, Tijuana has issued a declaration of war!" Just as he started to panic, his secretary rushed in.
"April 17th, 2 PM, Tijuana was attacked by rockets from within the United States, resulting in casualties. We are extremely outraged and have decided to strike back!"
On TV, Goebbels, in full military dress, spoke with a stern face.
The TV viewers all felt a shiver down their spines.
Including Acting President James Dan Quayle, who swallowed hard, feeling fearful.
Especially since Victor was so crazed, completely fearless, and equipped with missiles—even if they couldn't penetrate the anti-missile systems, the close distance meant being hit was inevitable, and if something went wrong, his chances of rising to power were utterly nonexistent.
"Sir, this is the time to contact Tijuana, keep lines open, and clear up any misunderstandings!" a staff member said.
"Right, contact Tijuana!" James Dan Quayle said frantically. Just as he reached for the phone, CIA Director Stanfield Turner burst in.
By 6 PM, Tijuana received The Pentagon's "misfire" message stating it was a misunderstanding, willing to talk things out and offer compensation.
"Hydra's intelligence shows that the attack was targeted, orchestrated by Raytheon Company and the Texas Consortium's Klang Family. One of their vice presidents and a direct descendent died in an explosion... this is retaliation, reportedly involving the Colombian drug cartels as well."
So this is how the Military Industrial Complex plays its games.
Victor smiled bitterly in anger.
"Murder must be atoned for by life, debts must be repaid—it's only just! They want to mess with us, and we're just supposed to take it?"
Victor grabbed the ashtray from the table and smashed it on the floor, "Level them! The Yanks want to talk, claim it was a misunderstanding—tell them I'm very angry now, order the missile battalion to prepare for battle, broadcast it live. I want to see what kind of compensation the Americans can offer me!"
The intelligence officers hastily nodded and recorded the General's orders.
After he left, Victor's anger subsided somewhat, and as he picked up the ashtray from the floor, he noticed a larger chip was missing from one corner.
He called his secretary and handed her the ashtray.
"Add a bit of gold to this corner."
