Movu took Yanarym under his care, which meant that she didn't need to beg on the streets anymore. Third-year together, when the man-in-charge changed too. Movu had his quota raised by that new man-in-charge. Movu negotiated that he would give triple of what he earned if the man-in-charged let them leave the main nest of the syndicate. The man agreed and they were able to leave the nest. They rented a small room in the squatters, better than a stone-cold cement floor on an abandoned building.
Two years of living in this small room. She was not neglected by Movu even once, and he was working hard to make her feel like a normal kid that had her every need set right to her. She doesn't even lift a finger anymore, sometimes she would sleep all day in the room soundly until he went home to take her out for dinner. He was also dedicated to pampering her for five years, not making any complaints or protests, he was actually enjoying it.
"Are you gonna take a bath or not?" He laughed at her when she looked up to him asking him with creased brows.
"I am, I am." He said and loosened his grip on her. "Don't be stingy." She stood up on her own and ate the snack she gave him earlier. "You're so impatient, wait for me here. I'll buy you something delicious, I earned pretty big this day." He took the toiletries and some second-hand clothes he bought from the dry market.
He halted on the door before even opening it and looked at her. "By the way, I bought you another set of clothes, wear it, okay?"
"This? Movu, it's a waste of money." She ranted as she took the bag of plastic he brought with him. A yellow floral spaghetti dress that fits her to her ankles. "I had a lot of this." She frowned and looked at the dress she's wearing. It's a blue pastel-sleeved crumpled dress below the knees.
"No, you don't. It's just fifteen sets of dresses."
"That's a lot. And it's not even from ukay-ukay! This is all brand new." She grumbles, Yanarym knows that Movu earns a lot of money with his skills, but for her, it was a waste buying brand new clothes. She would rather wear those second-hand clothes from ukay-ukay than this.
"What? Do you expect me to buy you second-hand dresses? And it looks pretty on you, it's not a waste." Movu was thinking otherwise. He loves dolling her because whenever he sees her dressing prettily he feels some sense of pride within him. And showing her off outside was a lot more gratifying. Wanted to boast that Yanarym was his adorable little girl.
"Just buy me what you are wearing too, we could save more."
"Save more for what? Just wear that, I'm gonna take a bath."
"I'm not going to wear this."
"Alright." This is her room, beside her, there was Movu's room. They didn't sleep in the same room for two reasons. One, they could barely fit into it, Movu's growing every day, he wouldn't able to stretch his limbs. Second, Movu insists on they shouldn't sleep together because he is a man. Yanarym didn't comment on it because she knew he was in his teenage hormonal spree.
Movu was really sweet to her, obviously, he likes her too much. He wouldn't harass her or molest her. She's too precious to become his sexual stuff. His energy was spent running around the capital, sneaking to earn money by stealing. It's bad to steal but they had no choice to survive, it's not like if they go with the policemen, they could help them escape from the clutches of the bad men. Police were paid by the syndicates not to do anything as long as they were not caught in the act and were reported by a citizen or some tourist.
"Hold my hand." After they both washed up, they headed to the city to have dinner at one of the fast-food chains. Movu was smiling from ear to ear seeing that she wore the dress he bought for her. She looks so gorgeous - and he's happy to show her off.
"Good evening sir," the girl crew on the counter greeted him and smiled sultrily. Yanarym saw this and looked at Movu who seemed dense enough not to notice that the girl was fascinated by him. "May I take your order?"
"Kid's meal, then the set 3."
"I don't want a kid's meal," Yanarym uttered, tugging at the hem of his shirt. "I want set 3 too."
"There's a freebie toy included on the kid's meal, sweety." The girl told her. "Your sister is cute." She said to Movu and blinked her eyes, like flirting with him. Yanarym couldn't blame the crew girl, since Movu had a deviously handsome face and physique even his clothes are too casual. In addition, he had his tall stature with tanned skin, his playful smile, and a defined jawline. Who wouldn't want this kind of person as their boyfriend?
"She's not my sister," Movu replied nonchalantly, pressing Yanarym's hand he's holding.
"Oh, sorry 'bout that, you both look gorgeous."
"Yeah, I know. We looked good together… we're meant for each other." The crew looked baffled when she heard him, and the visible, 'that's not what I mean' stare. "Two of set three."
"Movu, she likes you." Yanarym pointed out when they started to walk on the two-seater table. Movu gazed at her and shrugged, putting down the tray on the table. "Aren't you going to get a girlfriend?"
"I'm a thief Rym. Who would date me?"
"I don't know."
"Would you?"
"I don't think so. I'm underage." He laughed and pinched her cheeks.
"You're basically living under my care, you know."
"That's more like a guardian than a boyfriend, right?"
"Could be both, but what if you became legal? Would you date me?" Yanarym paused and stared at him.
