There's no word between them but Maddi could feel how excited Yashnile's body was. She turned around and met his eyes, it was longing, it's burning but it has a gloomy shade.
'It's Yanarym again, isn't it?' Maddi thought, she reached out for his cheeks and planted soft kisses.
"Do you believe in reincarnation?" Maddi asked out of nowhere. Yashnile blinks and touches her lips with his thumbs not meeting her eyes.
"Reincarnation, why?" She smiled. Hearing her voice brought Yashnile back to reality. He sat down on the bed, drawing away from her and releasing his arms that were securely encircling her. She was warm, as she always was. She isn't her, though.
"Rym told me a story before," Yashnile peered at her.
"Story?" Maddi was long aware of the conflict in this family. They are incest, fortunately, the sister was not into incest like the brothers.
She was not the type of person who concerns herself with other business, family problems. However, this family was different. She felt close, relatively close to each of them like she's one of them. That's why she wanted to stick her foot where it shouldn't be. "It's a legend about love." She started.
Yashnile silently listened, "The young rich man, Daniel loved the woman, Aleza with his everything. But Aleza loved someone else, Pim, he's a son of a farmer. Fortunately, she couldn't be with the man she loves because of their family status. Pim is just too poor for Aleza. Daniel took the chance to give everything she wanted, to please her, for her to choose him."
"Pim can't just watch his woman being taken away by Daniel. He suggested that they should elope. Far, far away from their family. Aleza didn't have any second thoughts and said yes to Pim. At night, when the moon was shining brightly, they were ready to leave. But Daniel was waiting, to prevent them from going anywhere."
"Pim tried to knock off Daniel but he failed. Aleza was taken captive, she was dragged back to her room. While Pim was thrown in jail. Weeks without news about the man she loves, and when she was allowed to leave her room. She heard the news, Pim was executed by Daniel. Aleza was deeply heartbroken, she committed suicide." Maddi paused and looked at Yashnile, he's still listening to her.
"Rym told me that story too, but it was Romeo and Juliet, not Pim and Aleza." He said.
"That's a different story," she chuckled. "Do you want to hear the continuation?"
"There's more?"
"Yeah, it's about Daniel."
"Hmm, go on. What happened to him?"
"He was the one who found Aleza, she was still breathing but extremely weak. Daniel thought Aleza hated him, that she cursed him for killing Pim but she was actually sorry."
"Aleza said sorry because she couldn't love anyone other than Pim even in her next life. She was sorry because even if she were ever to be reincarnated, she would only choose Pim to be her man --- over, over and over again."
"Daniel was awestruck, he was dumbfounded that he was dazing to her smiling lips before she breathed her last breath. She died in his arms, and as her body turned from warm to cold, his tears started to stream, he kept on murmuring that he will always be there, to her side. No matter when, no matter how many lives. He will always be the one who was closest to her. If he can't be her lover, he will be the person who will grow up with her. The person who would always be there for her. The one who she leaned on whenever she needed."
"There's a saying, right? That blood is thicker than water. So, when he died and was reincarnated, he became Aleza's brother. For Daniel, it was a curse but a blessing too. Because he was the one who's closer to her than Pim. But also the person who can't love her the way that a man does." Both of them were wordless for some minutes when Maddi ended the story. Yashnile peered at her facial expression but she was simply smiling.
"Why did you tell me that story?" He asked. She peered straight into his eyes.
"Because you're Daniel, Nile."
Yazeno was waiting at the departure and saw his sister walking out alone, he waved his hand to her and she smiled in his direction.
"Kuya's not here?"
"He's with Maddi in the parking lot." Yanarym nodded and looked behind her. "How was Spain, you stayed longer than a week?" Yazeno asked and embraced her waist and leaned his chin to her shoulder.
"Yes, there was a surprise, I'll introduce him to you with Kuya." Yazeno didn't understand what she said. Then, he saw Lawrence walking with someone, they seemed strangers to one another but it's obvious that they know one another.
"Come here." When they got near them, Lawrence called Yanarym to her side and she had to leave Yazeno's embrace. "Let's go." He added coldly and pulled her without saying hello to Yazeno. That's why Yazeno was left with the stranger, that came with Lawrence. He looked at the man and smiled at him but for some odd reason, he's not comfortable with this guy. Feels like, he was about to steal something very important from him.
"You're Zen?" The guy asked him.
"Yeah, you?"
"I'm Clarence."
"Ahh, why are you with my sister? With Lawrence?"
"That, I saw them in Spain, coincidence."
"Are you friends with Lawrence?"
"With Lawrence? Friends?" He laughed and shook his head. "We're rivals."
"Rivals? Of what?"
"Of your sister, what else?" Yazeno halted his steps and creased his eyebrows. Wait a moment, he doesn't understand a thing.
This man, Lawrence, and Yanarym. What happened in Spain? At the parking lot, they have a separate car, Yanarym ride with Lawrence to go to the restaurant where they are going to have dinner. Movu was riding his car that was prepared by his subordinates.
