World Richest: My Infinite Wealth Began With World Travelling Chapter 30

Chapter 30: Cranosith (4/5)

Alister’s feet were planted on the ground, his eyes locked on his target and the multiple attacks spiralling toward him simultaneously.

Both the abnormality and the crew had concluded in their hearts that there was no possible way for the hero to survive the attacks.

King Julian’s face was already etched with worry and defeat. The others around him had their hands on their heads, already mourning the hero’s inevitable downfall. Some bit their fingers in frustration.

As the attacks lunged toward the hero, their eyes widened with emotions ranging from sorrow to frustration.

But then the unthinkable happened.

Just a split second before the attacks would reach him, he made an impossible move.

He expertly vaulted onto the two hands lunging at him from the front and sprinted across them with inhuman speed and balance. He used the abnormality’s hands as a path to its own head.

"What!"

Theobald was at a loss for words witnessing the hero’s movement. Not only was it difficult to evade such a close attack, but it was impossible to sprint so fast along such a narrow path.

King Julian’s eyes widened not with worry or dread, but with amazement as the hero closed in on its target at a shocking pace.

The crystal lantern in Osborne grasp revealed his wide opened mouth. Even with all the age and experience in the wizard birth, he had never witnessed such an amazing move.

The abnormality, on the other hand, appeared to freeze for a few seconds in sheer shock.

Its lone eye darted from the hero’s former position to his lethal form sprinting along its hands. The mirror-like orb glinted with dread, and a convulsive tremor rippled through its limbs.

It began to screech loudly and desperately, attempting to shake the hero off by swinging its hands with all the strength it could muster in its current state.

But it was already...

"Too late!"

Alister leapt from the hands the moment he noticed a slight movement at the joint and lunged for its lone eye.

He saw the joints of the other three free appendages shift—the abnormality tried to retract them to defend itself, but it was futile.

Alister drove his sword into the remaining eye, cracking the mirror-like organ and inflicting unimaginable anguish on the abnormality.

The tone of its screech shifted—it now sounded like a cry laced with pain, anger, and frustration. It echoed through the entire enclosure, rattling it slightly.

With its eye gone, the abnormality’s overall strength plummeted. Not only could it no longer see its assailant, but it also lost control over its hands.

CRACK! THUD!

The bony hands writhed violently in random directions, smashing against the wall, stabbing at the ground, and swinging at empty air in a desperate attempt to kill the hero.

The hero stood at a safe distance from the raging abnormality, grinning ear to ear at his accomplishment.

It felt satisfying to watch the once-powerful opponent lose its composure.

"T-this is amazing!"

"The hero has managed to take its eye. Killing it will be far easier now!"

"How can one attain such power?"

"With his strength, the Gravemind Order would be a walk in the park!"

The crew had already begun celebrating victory, even though the opponent still lived.

Hope returned to their eyes, and the helplessness they had felt a few minutes ago vanished.

[ Your favorability amongst the crew has increased by 200% | Current Status: Savior ]

[ You’ve received temporary title: Savior (48 Hours) ]

[ While (Savior) is equipped, your attack power when fighting under the witness of the crew increases by 50%. You gain an additional 25% experience points from defeating the opponent ]

This drastic shift from helplessness to excitement triggered a new notification—the first of its kind.

Unfortunately, Alister still had a task to accomplish and paid only a fraction of attention to the new notification. The pain from his injuries was intensifying, and he wanted nothing more than to end this enemy’s life and rest.

"Here goes nothing."

Alister let out a long sigh and began striding toward the chaotic zone.

He soon came within reach of the hands twisting desperately—but he showed no fear as he easily evaded their strikes without even swinging his sword.

The swift sidesteps and sprints he performed were flashy and effective. Alister closed in on the abnormality without it even noticing.

Thanks to its unending screech of pain and anger, the abnormality effectively deafened itself—a further advantage to the hero.

Alister now stood boldly about five feet from the massive abnormality.

Alister analyzed the massive entity’s structure, searching for a weak point—and it took him less than five seconds to identify it.

Once he confirmed the weak spot, he casually circled the massive entity and arrived at its rear without drawing notice.

Standing behind it, Alister studied the huge bony structure, focusing on its massive feet rooted in the ground. They looked so sturdy and hard that his basic sword would stand no chance at cutting through them.

Nevertheless, unlike its massive feet, its neck was weak and exposed—that was the spot he targeted.

Heaving a sigh, Alister clutched his sword and launched his body at his new target.

He landed on the abnormality’s broad shoulder and, without wasting a second, swung his sword with every ounce of strength.

[ Title (Savior) in effect, Attack power increased by 50% ]

[ Skill (Swordmaster Lv2) in effect... ]

Two windows popped up at the same time.

Alister felt an inexplicable surge of strength and agility as he swung his weapon at the enraged abnormality’s neck.

SHRAAAK!

The sharp sound of the sword cutting through bone reverberated through the chamber.

The abnormality’s loud screech fell abruptly silent. The force driving its hands to thrash against the tunnel died away, and they fell limp, hitting the ground with dull thuds.

Under the amazed gaze of the onlookers, its gigantic head thudded to the ground, followed by the collapse of its massive bony form.

[ You’ve slayed X1 Cranosith, EXP +238 (+60) ]

[ Weapon: Basic Sword has been badly damaged ]
