World-saving Plan: The Only Savior Chapter 142

Zhang Xiaoman was now able to clearly "see" the positions of the Blood Butterfly and several Parasitic Spirit larvae, even perceiving the faint traces they left as they moved.

This added sense operated directly on the brain and spiritual level, and did not affect his original use of vision to observe his environment.

He gently turned the doorknob and locked it.

Indeed, even the windows in the hospital were reinforced with tempered glass, not to mention the rooftop.

Zhang Xiaoman took a couple of steps back, activated a skill, and summoned two Star Guards; one of them swung its arm, thrusting the over two-meter-long giant spear in its hand, and the door lock shattered at the impact.

Inside the command vehicle, everyone watched the scene intently, their expressions filled with shock.

"Who is he? What does he want to do? How does he know about this place? What exactly is his relationship with that monster?"

"Did you see it, those two people in armor just now—how did they appear? Could this be some kind of summoning technique?"

"What’s with the black shadow around him? And that aircraft that could turn invisible and fly directly above us, undetectable by radar—could this guy be an alien?"

"No! He must be a Transcendent! Mr. Wen was right, the mythological legends weren’t unfounded—this world indeed hides aspects we’re unaware of!"

Unaware of the debate in the command vehicle, Zhang Xiaoman walked cautiously on the stairs at that moment. The lighting system here had been damaged, and combined with the enclosed environment, visibility was not very high.

In the quiet hospital building, people lay unconscious everywhere, mentally traumatized. The further he descended, a faint, almost imperceptible smell of blood seemed to permeate the air.

As Zhang Xiaoman passed several unconscious people, he even reached out to check their breathing. Thankfully, although very weak, they were not yet dead. Perhaps the Blood Butterfly did this deliberately; in any case, it seemed he hadn’t arrived too late.

Below, as if sensing an intruder, the Blood Butterfly once again launched an attack. Undoubtedly, this creature’s spiritual power was formidable, capable of causing area damage while precisely avoiding those unconscious "reserve food", so as not to kill them outright.

As that shrill cry ended, Zhang Xiaoman nonchalantly cleared his ears. The opponent’s powerful spiritual attack was laughable in his presence, and even the Star Guards he’d summoned weren’t affected in the slightest.

However, this attack from the Blood Butterfly was not entirely without merit.

"Pop!" A faint sound came from Zhang Xiaoman’s pocket, startling him.

He reached out and took a black phone out of it, and Zhang Xiaoman, a bit annoyed, found that his phone had broken, the screen cracked, and a slight burnt smell was faintly detectable from within.

"Damn it! Why be so sneaky! My little padded jacket that’s been with me for three years! To die heroically here!?"

"No way! Today I demand a blood for blood!"

Zhang Xiaoman got angry and quickened his pace down the stairs.

Yet another sharp screech sounded but accomplished nothing this time.

"Although the spiritual attack is ineffective, this thing is too noisy—it looks like I need to make some earplugs," Zhang Xiaoman stopped, took a pack of tissues out of his pocket, and crumpled it into a ball to stuff into his ears.

"That’s much better."

As he spoke, the Blood Butterfly launched a third attack, but this time it was even more pitiful—the little noise was blocked outside by the earplugs.

As if sensing an impending crisis, the Blood Butterfly had also become anxious. From Zhang Xiaoman’s perception, it was clear that the big creature below was moving quickly, seemingly trying to get away from him.

"It’s trying to run!" Zhang Xiaoman reacted instantly, quickening his pace.

As he approached the fifth floor, the stench of blood became stronger, making one nauseous with just a gentle breath.

On the fifth floor, in the corridor, Zhang Xiaoman was shocked at the scene before him: blood everywhere on the walls and not just unconscious humans on the floor—many had already been brutally murdered.

"This damned thing!" Zhang Xiaoman said, looking at a corpse with a shattered head, his fury already blazing.

His face grim, he made his way through the corridor to the door of Room 28. Inside, a huge blood-red butterfly was fiercely hitting the tempered glass with its head.

"Hey, you know fear, huh?"

Zhang Xiaoman was amused, "Ignorant Alien Species, the tempered glass of Hua Xia Country is not something a fragile mage with all attributes increased can shatter."

Perhaps hearing the noise behind, the Blood Butterfly, its body drenched in blood, slowly turned around. Its four-eyed head turned to Zhang Xiaoman and the long tubular mouthpiece curled at the side, giving a bone-chilling effect.

However, Zhang Xiaoman was no longer naive; after so many battles, he could now remain calm in the face of these weird creatures. It wasn’t just the confidence brought about by strength but also a shift in his mindset.

Zhang Xiaoman immediately issued a command to the Star Guard, and two warriors clad in blue-purple armor charged without hesitation.

Seeing this, the Blood Butterfly swiftly flapped its wings and flew to the ceiling, revealing a grotesque, twisted human face on its abdomen.

As the Blood Butterfly’s abdomen swelled, the mouth on the face opened slightly and a sharp, piercing scream emitted from it, sending a wave of invisible spiritual attack sweeping toward Zhang Xiaoman.

It turns out that the attacks it had launched before were all from the human face on its abdomen!

The attack of the Blood Butterfly was a desperate resistance, powerful and containing most of its strength.

If it had been before, Zhang Xiaoman’s five points of spiritual power might really have been unable to withstand it.

But now, with the Ultimate Item’s Master of the Mind ability, which granted immunity to all spiritual attacks, no matter how formidable the spiritual power, it could not even scratch him!

This was the terrifying aspect of the Ultimate Item, essentially a cheat within cheats.

The Blood Butterfly naturally met a tragic end; its attack, aside from being loud, did no harm to Zhang Xiaoman at all.

The two Star Guards, similar to Elemental Puppets, were unaffected as well; the desperate struggle of the Blood Butterfly was meaningless.

One Star Guard walked over and stabbed the butterfly in the head with his spear. Though it was on the ceiling, the height was only a bit over three meters. The two-meter-tall Star Guard, holding a similarly long spear, easily attacked the monster.

The Blood Butterfly’s head was pierced, but it did not die immediately. The face on its abdomen twisted and struggled, let out a painful scream, and was then pulled down from the air by the Star Guard.

"Looks guy has two heads... let’s just finish it off then."

Zhang Xiaoman immediately gave another command to the other Star Guard, who stepped forward and thrust his spear fiercely.

This boss-level creature, which had nearly wiped out an entire modernized Land Battle Camp, was easily killed by two strikes from two Star Guards in such a small room, a truly unbelievable turn of events.

Zhang Xiaoman, watching the Blood Butterfly gradually stop moving, also showed a hint of relief on his face.

However, just as he was about to move forward to absorb the monster’s body and convert it into points, he saw from the corner of his eye several semi-transparent figures furiously rushing toward him from beside the bed not far away.
