"Careful! It’s behind the container!"
Beelu roared, revealing the hidden position of the foe.
The team leader reacted swiftly, immediately throwing a hand grenade in that direction.
Seeing this, the other team members followed suit, hurling seven or eight hand grenades in quick succession.
Perhaps the monster had hoped to conduct a surprise attack from behind the container, or possibly it was engaged in some other activity.
The monster could never have expected that it would face a gang of dishonorable thugs who had seemingly activated a "wallhack" cheat and turned the tables on it.
A single hand grenade might not be a threat to these tough-skinned Stone Statue Demons, but when seven or eight grenades exploded simultaneously, the released energy instantly killed it.
Beelu, using the Spirit Detection Technique, observed the situation behind the container.
The team leader issued the command, and everyone continued toward the objective.
At that moment, Feodor was holding a defensive position in a warehouse with several soldiers.
Outside, several Stone Statue Demons were violently attacking their camp.
Just moments before, as more and more monsters emerged from the Dimension Rift, the innermost defense perimeter had been breached.
Feodor immediately took his soldiers and sought refuge in this warehouse, using the terrain to their advantage in resisting the monsters.
However, as time passed, their ammunition began to run out, and they couldn’t hold on for much longer.
"I’m out of bullets!"
A soldier shouted in desperation.
With that, he pulled out the last hand grenade from his waist, his gaze fixed on the Stone Statue Demons outside the door, teeth clenched, ready to charge and stuff it into the enemy’s mouth.
A comrade beside him saw what he was doing and gently tugged his arm, signaling him not to be rash.
But the soldier shook his head tragically; he was fed up with this hopeless situation. He’d rather rush out for a desperate one-for-one trade than slowly await death here.
"Gilder, take care of Cathy for me..."
He made the sign of the cross over his chest and, without looking back, charged at the monsters outside the door.
However, just as he reached the warehouse doorway, the Stone Statue Demon in front of him suddenly flew into the air.
It didn’t seem to be using its wings to fly; rather, it appeared as if it were knocked away by some force.
The next second, when he came to his senses, he saw a man in a black tight-fitting combat suit standing where the monster had just been.
The man didn’t give the soldier time to hesitate, dodged the hand grenade that had already begun its countdown in his palm, and threw it straight at the Stone Statue Demon he had just knocked away.
To the soldier’s astonishment, the man’s aim was extremely accurate; a seemingly casual toss sent the hand grenade directly into the monster’s mouth.
The explosion sounded, and the headless corpse of the Stone Statue Demon struggled on the spot before collapsing to the ground, motionless.
The soldiers holding the line in the warehouse were dumbfounded at the sight.
They had seen for themselves — the man moved as fast as the wind, using his own strength to knock the monster away. It was like watching Superman in action!
The soldiers were unaware of the existence of Transcendents within the Hurricane Team.
But now, witnessing what had just happened, they all felt as if those on the brink of doom had found their last hope, their faces glowing anew.
Of course, the one who had knocked away the monster was none other than Beelu.
Beelu and the members of Hurricane Team had made their way to the command camp, whereupon they detected the situation at the warehouse using the Spirit Detection Technique, and immediately rushed over.
Beelu had seen the soldier’s suicidal charge and, without a second thought, had sped over there.
What followed was just as everyone had seen: Beelu knocked the two-meter-tall Stone Statue Demon flying with a single hit, successfully saving the soldier.
Behind him, the Hurricane Team provided support; their gunfire engulfed another monster in an instant.
There had originally been three Stone Statue Demons at the entrance of the warehouse; now, with two eliminated, only one remained.
That monster seemed dumbfounded by the sudden turn of events, but it quickly regained its wits and immediately targeted Beelu, who was radiating Dark Energy Fluctuations, charging at him furiously.
For Beelu, it was essentially his first time actively entering a battlefield. In the previous emergency save, he hadn’t thought much of it, but now, facing the monster’s charge alone, his palms began to sweat.
Recalling the training of the past month, he knew he couldn’t show any hesitation. When faced with narrow odds, only the brave prevails. He had to defeat the monster head-on.
The weapon Beelu used differed from the rest of the Hurricane Team; it wasn’t a firearm, but rather a very large Alloy Longsword.
Based on their last encounter with Mutants, the Hurricane Bureau found that in certain circumstances, hot weapons were indeed not as effective against Alien Species monsters as cold weapons.
Thus, for Beelu’s combat strategy, the researchers crafted a sharply honed Alloy Longsword suited to him.
Beelu remembered the swordplay techniques his instructor had taught him. He didn’t immediately spring into action but instead stayed coiled and ready, waiting for the monster to get close.
