At the same time, in a tavern within the Gathering Place for the Underworld, Ada sensed a presence. Someone had issued him a challenge: a person named Jiang Chen, who possessed 510,000 Destruction Laws. Ada also clearly knew the challenger was a Wanderer. He belonged neither to the Difiled God Continent nor to the Continent of All-Gods.
"Ada, what’s going on?"
"Someone has challenged me. The challenger is a Wanderer named Jiang Chen, possessing 500,000 Destruction Laws."
"What? A Wanderer?"
"Since he’s a Wanderer, there’s nothing to fear. Wanderers don’t possess any Divine-level equipment. Even if they have Destruction Laws, they can’t fully utilize their power."
"This is perfect. Kill Jiang Chen and seize his Destruction Laws. Then, challenge Asimio from the Continent of All-Gods and take his one million Destruction Laws. That way, you’ll have over two million Destruction Laws!"
"That name, Jiang Chen... it sounds familiar. I feel like I’ve heard it somewhere before."
"A Wanderer? Find one and ask for details."
There were Wanderers who had pledged allegiance to the Underworld citizens. They immediately found one to question.
Ada looked at the Wanderer and asked, "Do you know Jiang Chen? Is he one of your fellow Wanderers?"
The Wanderer was completely bewildered. Jiang Chen? Who is that guy? I’ve never heard of him!
The Wanderer shook his head. "I don’t know him. The most powerful Wanderer I know is Bai Yun; he’s known as the Wanderers Sword God. I know of some other Wanderers too. Among the well-known Wanderers, there’s no one named Jiang Chen. He’s most likely a newly risen figure."
Ada looked at him, knowing he wasn’t lying.
"Since you don’t know, forget it. But daring to challenge me? He’s courting death. His 500,000 Destruction Laws will be mine once I kill him and seize his Power of Destruction."
With a mere thought, Ada accepted Jiang Chen’s challenge.
「The Challenge Center.」
Jiang Chen watched the data update. His opponent had accepted the challenge. The challenge would take place in Arena Number One, located in Dimitre City.
Becoming Divine was simple: Demigods challenged and killed each other. Eventually, someone would achieve godhood. Such were the rules of this world of slaughter. In these challenges, only one could emerge victorious; the other faced certain death.
Daphne, watching the display, whispered, "He agreed."
"I know. Let’s head to Arena Number One and wait for him now."
"Be careful."
"No worries."
Only by quickly becoming Divine could one ensure their self-preservation. To achieve godhood, one had to upgrade their Law of Destruction until it reached the Power of one hundred million laws.
Jiang Chen and Daphne proceeded to Arena Number One. By the time they arrived, a large crowd had already gathered, most of them spectators eager for the show.

Asimio had received the information. He had already arranged with the Underworld citizen to fight in ten days, intending to seize his Laws. Unfortunately, he hadn’t expected someone to suddenly appear—the Wanderer, Jiang Chen—disrupting all his plans. "That Ada fellow is sure to die at his hands."
Asimio shook his head. "Not necessarily. Ada’s understanding of the Law of Destruction has reached new heights. It’s said he has comprehended quintuple combat power."

As Jiang Chen arrived with Daphne, he instantly sensed something. He stopped and looked to his right, spotting Asimio. Simultaneously, Asimio also saw Jiang Chen. Both men sensed the Law of Destruction in the other, and both desired to eliminate their rival, to kill them and seize their Laws.
Daphne asked, "Who is he?"
"That should be Asimio, the other possessor of the Law of Destruction."
"Might as well deal with him too."
"No rush. Let me deal with Ada first. Then I’ll take care of him and seize his Law of Destruction."
Daphne whispered, "But after you defeat Ada, what if he refuses to fight you then?"
Jiang Chen gave a roguish smile. "Oh, I’ll give him a reason to challenge me."
Jiang Chen hadn’t expected to run into Asimio, another possessor of the Law of Destruction. One of his targets (Ada) had 700,000 Laws, and the other (Asimio) had 1 million. Together, that was 1.7 million Laws. Adding his own, it would be a total of 2.2 million Destruction Laws. Of course, if he could also defeat Ulysses, the top-ranked master who possessed 10 million Destruction Laws, then the total would be truly terrifying.
Just then, Ada, having already stepped onto the arena stage, noticed Jiang Chen.
Ada declared, "Asimio, you’ve come at an inconvenient time. Wait until I’ve killed him, then I’ll challenge you. Your Law of Destruction will be mine!"

"A three-way melee. Whoever wins gets all the Laws."
Jiang Chen’s words made both Ada and Asimio pause in thought.
Asimio, who possessed 1 million Destruction Laws, considered this first. If Ada gained the upper hand and took Jiang Chen’s 500,000 Laws, it would be disastrous for him. Whether Jiang Chen killed Ada, or Ada killed Jiang Chen, neither outcome was desirable for Asimio. Ideally, they would critically injure each other, allowing him to swoop in and reap the benefits. But was that even possible?
Ada’s brow furrowed deeply. This kid... saying something like this... Has he hidden his true strength? Or is he trying to make us fight to our mutual destruction so he can pick up the spoils?
