Wrong Love, Final Goodbye: She'll Never Look Back Chapter 48

Tanya Sinclair detected a subtle hint of anger in Vincent Hawthorne’s tone, and she was slightly stunned. When she realized it, she found it utterly ironic and laughable.

Cindy Lynn was practically moving into their home, and yet he was accusing her of being the thief who cries "Stop thief"?

Vincent Hawthorne received a call from Yvonne Hawthorne on his way home, shortly after she had woken up.

She was adamant that Tanya Sinclair had a lover outside.

’Bro, that bitch is definitely seeing someone else behind your back! Haven’t you noticed how different Tanya Sinclair has been since she woke up this time?’

He verbally dismissed Yvonne Hawthorne, telling her not to talk nonsense.

But her last sentence indeed struck a nerve with Vincent.

Tanya Sinclair did seem a bit different this time after waking up...

Vincent scrutinized Tanya closely; it was still the same familiar face, even more delicate than five years ago.

He faintly frowned, feeling that inexplicable anxiety surfacing again.

"Tanya, I need an explanation," he said coldly.

He really was doubting her.

Tanya closed her eyes, her pale hand gripping the bedsheet underneath her.

A chilling sensation gradually spread from her heart.

Just when she thought she had built up enough disappointment to be invulnerable to Vincent’s wounds, his shamelessness always managed to break new ground!

"That man just felt sorry that I was blind and stood up for me when Yvonne was trying to hit me. As for why I got into the car, it was because he was worried Yvonne would come back and wanted to give me a ride."

Vincent’s eyes remained fixed on her face, silent for a moment before asking in a low voice: "...Where did he take you?"

"To the entrance of Northwood University. Vincent, if you still don’t believe me, there should be surveillance at the gate, you can check it," Tanya forced herself to speak calmly, then raised her hand to wipe away the tears beneath her sunglasses, "If you have no more questions to interrogate me, I’d like to get some rest."

After speaking, Tanya took off her sunglasses and tossed them aside. She turned her back to Vincent and lay down. Her delicate and beautiful shoulder blades pushed against her pajamas, her whole body thin and exhausted, even her hair radiated grievances.

He raised his hand and pressed it against his brow, striding over to Tanya.

"I’m sorry, Tanya, I didn’t mean it that way." Vincent’s voice softened back to his usual tenderness, and he apologized in a low voice.

His large hand landed on her shoulder, his palm burning hot.

Tanya got goosebumps, unable to stop thinking about how many times those hands had touched Cindy Lynn!

The nausea in her stomach welled up again.

Her words could feign calmness, but her body’s reactions couldn’t be fooled. Just a touch from Vincent on her shoulder made her want to vomit.

Tanya could only continue playing her role of grievance. Follow current novels on novel⁂fire.net

"You’ve had a long day too, get some rest," she gently broke free from Vincent’s hand, sat up, her eyes slightly red with repressed bitterness, she bit her lower lip, "I want to sleep in the study."

She looked truly wronged and pitiful.

Vincent’s heart softened.

"I’m sorry, Tanya," he said helplessly, "I was just too tired today and made a mistake."

He pulled Tanya into his arms, his large hand stroking her hair.

"I’ll take a shower, then go sleep in the study, I have some work to finish tonight anyway."

Just being embraced by him made Tanya’s skin crawl, she fought back the nausea, forcing herself to endure it.

Considerate and patient, she said, "Alright, I’ll get your pajamas for you."

Vincent let out a low chuckle, leaning down to plant a kiss on her forehead.

"Tanya, do you know what I like most about you?" Tanya rested in Vincent’s arms, her gaze cold and filled with disgust, but when she opened her mouth, her voice remained gentle and innocent.

Vincent’s fingers ran through her hair, like a master caressing his most obedient pet.

"I like that you always know when to stop, and you never throw tantrums at me," he said contentedly, "My Tanya is so good."

After Vincent went into the bathroom, Tanya exhaled deeply. She got up and went to the closet, where Vincent’s clothes were neatly organized in separate compartments.

His pajamas had their own section; as Tanya was looking for them, her hand suddenly halted.

Under a row of men’s pajamas, she saw a sexy silk slip dress with lace trimming.

With a sarcastic smile, Tanya pulled it out to take a glance, guessing that Cindy Lynn wouldn’t be able to cover herself front or back with its length.

She put the dress back in place, sprayed some disinfectant on her hands, and took Vincent’s pajamas out.

Tanya placed Vincent’s pajamas by the bathroom door, then lay back on the bed.

When Vincent finished showering and came out, she pretended to be asleep, fearing just one more look at this bastard would make her throw up her dinner.

She heard Vincent’s footsteps stop in front of her.

With her hand clenched tightly under the covers, Tanya prayed he wouldn’t touch her.

Fortunately, Vincent didn’t make any further moves, he just tucked her in and turned to leave.

Leaving the bedroom, Vincent didn’t head straight to the study; he went out to the balcony at the end of the corridor and lit a cigarette.

The night hung silently, moonlight piercing through gaps in the clouds.

It cast a rare coldness on his usually handsome and refined face.

Vincent made a call to Jonah Rivers.

"Get someone to check the surveillance at the entrance of Northwood University from this afternoon. See if there’s any sign of my wife and what time she got out of the car..."
