Yama Reborn Chapter 9

The new book has just started, and I’ve seriously read everyone’s reviews and comments for each Chapter.

Some mistakes were indeed typos on my part. For instance, characters from "Samurai Spirits" were mistakenly included in "The King of Fighters." I apologize for this; I confused Kyo Kusanagi with Juzoh Kanzaki, as I had played both games back then. I’ve corrected the names... well, I ended up not using either and changed it to Mai Shiranui, haha.

There were also some bugs that were caught, which I’ve corrected after seeing them. Thanks, everyone, for spotting them; I’ll be more careful when typing in the future. And I’ll make regular revisions to correct typos in earlier Chapters.

Besides, there are some things that simply couldn’t be helped.

Take, for example, the matter of landmines. I’m not a military professional, just an author who types. A lot of my knowledge comes from doing research. To share my feelings, I consider myself to be acting professionally by spending time on research and then creatively interpreting it. However, there are certainly many things that I don’t understand from a professional standpoint.

Here, I can only bow and express my regrets to everyone.

In writing novels, I can only try my best to avoid basic common-sense errors. These are the most fundamental tasks for an author.

Moving on, if it involves more specialized subjects, all I can do is rely on research and imagination—writers can only try their best to make something professional look "convincing," though it won’t withstand close scrutiny. But luckily, it’s just a story, a novel, and as long as it roughly looks "convincing," that’s good enough.

Like with the M2 landmine, I simply looked up the specific details of the American M2 landmine, its various parameters, and found a cross-sectional diagram of this type of mine to look at.

But anything more in-depth, such as how to detonate it or how to construct it to be explosive, is truly just my own fabrication.

Please don’t delve too deeply. I’m just a writer, not a military professional, and not even a military enthusiast.

All I can do is write things that look "convincing."

Military enthusiast readers have left comments saying it’s not professional enough. All I can do here is bow and express my regret to you.

My abilities are limited; I apologize.

Another example is how the protagonist crossed North Goryeo to arrive at the 38th parallel... I didn’t write about this process.

I can write about how the protagonist sneaks from one foreign country to another. But if I were to write about how to sneak out across one’s own country’s border... that would pose censorship issues.

Think about it: I mentioned that the protagonist took out a North Goryeo sentry. But I didn’t write whether the protagonist killed anyone... so, you all understand. I’ll let you draw your own conclusions on that.

However, when it came to "Descendants of the Sun," I dared to write freely.

Think about it. Think about it carefully.

Sometimes, it’s actually quite difficult.

If I had really written that 36-hour story, it most likely would have risked being [404]ed, so it had to be this way.

I actually don’t mind readers bringing up such questions.

After all, I’ve long expressed the belief that attention to detail is important in novel-writing.

But this attention to detail can only be to the best of my capability.

In my personal view, authors should not make common-sense errors. Note, I said common-sense.

But when it comes to more specialized subjects, authors can truly feel helpless. A writer can’t be knowledgeable about everything; there’s definitely a lot that I don’t know. Trying to research and superficially study it, to achieve something that looks "convincing," is actually the best we can do. Any higher expectation is genuinely difficult.

Regardless, I’ll try to be more meticulous in the subsequent story, doing my best.

Well, that’s what I wanted to say.

There’s another update tonight.

My capabilities are limited, truly limited; this is as much as I can do.
